You'd think the person who made you food would be more offended if you asked for hotsauce after you tasted their bland dish right? If someone immediately asked for hotsauce before eating that would most likely indicate that it is a common practice for them and not a slight in any way right?

some chefs take salt and pepper as an offense and dont put shakers out on the tables for that reason only available upon request
