I haven't been to haiti since I was yay high. I can only talk about what I've heard and that would be that as such some places in Haiti are very beautiful such as cities like Petionville, Jacmel, Kenscoff etc.

Haiti was the highest-producing and wealthiest territory of the new world in terms of natural resources.

The loss of Haiti made the Feench so desperate financially it made the Louisiana Purchase possible.

And anyway if you think the average block in Haiti is what you see on CNN and general American perception you're mistaken breh.
