Peeps, I have been noodln on this for a minute now. Busta, who's been in the game for about 25 years now, who was the BOSS of Flip mode squad, is signed to Young money. I don't know how I feel about this. I think Busta should be on the level of doing his own thing, just like Cash money and even Young money are doing. Why did Busta have to sign to another rapper? Is he more comfortable being a rapper, than a boss? I don't know. I just kinda took it as a punch to the gut bc it should be the other way around. Busta doesn't seem to know where he wants to be. His last 3 or 4 albums have been on different labels. Is he just hustlin? I don't know but it just doesn't feel right. Same for Juicy J signing to Wiz Khalifa. I don't know bro. Are these old dudes hustlin these young dudes for bread? I don't know.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
some of these nikkas don't care about running shyt.. i remember an interview with method man after jay-z got the president's job... nikka basically said he would never want to run a label.. he loves to rap and chill. he's living off writing raps and performing then why the hell he want to even get into running a label and all that comes with it

busta obviously wasn't cut out for it.. he never let none of them nikkas drop except rah digga i think.. maybe 1 flipmode album... running a label ain't just you running around with the crew, putting an album together

that shyt is meetings, connections, deadlines, paperwork, red tape, and a bunch of other shyt.. plus you literally controlling 5-10 other artists careers, release dates, schedules, spending, budget... WHILE you still trying to drop your own projects... he probably another dude just happy to make music and fukk around on his free time

Yeah running a label is alot of work..

And Busta didnt have a "silent sidekick"who could handle the day to day operations....

Who was going to oversee Spliff Star's 4 figure recording budget?

If Birdman died the entire label would probably go to Birdman's daughter since none of that sh1t is in Waynes name

Something you little nigglets will learn, it is never a loss to have a job/work, it is a loss not to produce in any capacity or be worthless. Wayne signed him so, Wayne think he has worth. Your employer gives you an opportunity who cares if he/she is senior or junior to you, only you know your motivation and ambition.

Rappers dont really work for other rappers. The label is more a brand under a larger recprd company and is more just a marketing thing. In essence, Busta and Wayne both are signed under Universal and Busta being signed to Young Money is just universal assigning a brand to him to raise his profile to the next album. It aint like Wayne is sitting there assigning release dates and going through the budget. At best (keyword: at best) Baby and Slim are involved in the logistics but truth be told they're all signed to a bigger label who operates to deliver them as a product to the public.
