Why is the NFL impervious to a ratings device?

Unless they are but relative to the NBA it's not much?

PRIDE and OneFC definitely have the GOAT intros. UFC has watered down the uniqueness of each fighter. PRIDE had showmanship.
The thing is though I think there's enough beef/drama to keep people interested in watching. Plus maybe there's a bunch of "Just Bleed" type fighters that like the appeal of combat sports.

I honestly don't really find basketball for ME that appealing alongside most other ball sports except football (strategy, almost simulating war) and tennis (agility, dynamic) but I watch it because it's an American past time but I may have just grown out of watching most sports. Speaking of American past time, are people watching baseball like that any more?

Yeah ONE FC goated with their entrances and theatrics but good Lord the commentary and "TeChNiKco KnooCkOwUt!" Annoying ass announcer kills the vibes to a PRIDE FC alternative.

RIZIN should have been the torch carrier, but sighs...not many stars as ONE and UFC.

As far as Baseball...eh, as a marsupial that watch it from time to time, it's a hit and miss to the average watcher. The seasons themselves are too damn long, and despite the new timing of the pitches, the games still feel like slogs go get through.

Don't even get me started with how stupid and redundant the blackout rules are :scust: . Probably worse than the NBA.

Ehh, it's the armchair Joey Grieco business minded humans that do the riff Raff that over obsessed with the numbers.

Hell I still do that from time to time, despite my damns and money not going into the stakes. Honestly, I feel like heads that talk about the numbers are bored with the usual conversations that comes with hobbies.

Thus why heads crash out over shyt, because why argue about a sports game, when you can argue about dying TV numbers and streaming services that fudged up the numbers for cosplay shareholding dikkheads such as wrestling fans :mjlol:

It’s just stale, the chucking threes all game thing is what everyone’s mad about. The flopping can be bad too. But If you Don’t like basketball than go watch some trash ass redneck football or baseball. Plus nobody has time to watch a 2 plus hour game, I’m just checking IG highlights and YouTube videos.

Who knows nba has been around what not even 80 years yet, times can easily change where the mass doesn't give a damn about it and tv deals shrink to nothing etc. in the future.

somehow people are just conditioned to watch. Even the trashiest of MNF/SNF/TNF or preseason games draw.

Like a Titans/Jaguars meaningless regular season game has the chance of outdrawing a marquee matchup in pretty much every sport. Even though it objectively won't be a good game to watch.

If the NBA was dying it'd be reflected in the contracts and salary cap. That's the canary in the coal mine. Just pay attention to what dudes are making in 2025.

The media deals and whatnot that effect the contracts are only done in big year gaps. They secured new contracts recently right? Even if there is/was a decline, it isn't going to show immediately in what some players contract is.

People are short sighted. The meandering entertainment value of the league will need to be addressed before big media contracts are signed again or you may see issues become far more apparent. But they got that bag for a while so I dont expect to see player salaries decrease or anything like that.
