Is it just me. Or is just blaze a tad bit overrated?

Blaze can't control how many beats he sells a year, it all depends if artist demand his production, it's not like he chooses to put out 3-4 a year :whoa:

Yea if he can start producing like he did on exhibit A, it will do wonders for his credibility. One of my fave producers but yeah his sound is kind of dated. But to say Lex Luger and Mike Will>>>mainstream :usure: maybe today but JB has produced 5 U.S. top ten hits (oh boy, cant let you go, breathe, show me what you got, live your life) idk if Lex or Mike has done anything thats charted past top 30.

Mike Will? :usure:

Tupac Back, No Lie, Turn On The Lights and this is like his second year of really being in the loop. Dont he got something on Rhianna album now too? :leon:

I cant believe what i'm reading in this thread.

He hasn't evolved? He went from chopping up soul records to having actual church choirs and musicians in his music with epic beat changes (lord knows, compton)

Heatmakers are >>>> than Just Blaze:pachaha:

You gotta be kidding me

Were in a more digital sounding era now? WTF does that even mean? lol. You mean as in a more synthesizer using era? So you dont want real bass players and other musicians in your music?

The only thing that hangs over his head is he never fully produced an entire project that was classic.

So he's outdated now? What because he doesnt use the SAME EXACT 808 drum sounds and patterns that all of these new producers use? These guys have been making the SAME BEAT for years now.

I bet lex luger is sick out of his mind tired of making that trap shyt. But i cant blame him for getting paid for it because thats prolly what everyone asks of him.

THEY. ALL. SOUND. THE. SAME. Beat bully, beat billionare, beat whoever, mike will, kill will.

yo these dudes even have similar names its ridiculous.

Just blaze is def up there with the RZA's, Swizz beats, etc.

Superb producer. But all this top 5 talk? :usure:

Keeping it real G. Kanye a better and more versatile producer than Just Blaze.

I put Just Blaze more along the lines of the extremely talented one trick pony producers, like 9th wonder and em. Imo Lex Luger, Mike Will >>> Just as far as producing popular mainstream music.

JB in my top 15. But top 5? Nah :merchant:

RZA
DRE
Timbaland
Neptunes
Kanye West
3 6 mafia
Lord Finesse
The Alchemist
Bink
DJ Tomp
Dj Premier
The Hitmen ( :steviej: )
Daz
Dj Quik
No ID
Shawty Redd
Lex Luger

And I know im missing some more too :yeshrug:

JB is a legend in my opinion. DRE is overrated. At least JB makes his own beats. JB has dozens of classic tracks on classic albums. RZA? Are u serious? When was the last time RZA made a hot beat? I fux with Lex Luger. But dude fell off the map

:dead: Too true. But I know what they mean about his sound not evolving, eventhough he doing the live thing it still is the same style. If you compare it to how Dre changed from heavy sample interpolations and G-funk to the piano, string thing he started doing. Kanye shouldnt have to be explained, even Timbo has alot of diversity. He had something going with exhibit A, wish he would tap into that some more. But yea I would not call him overrated at all. When you ask someone for a top 5 idk if his name is even mentioned its always Timbo, Dre, Preem, Ye, RZA, Pharrell being mentioned.

As much as I mess with Lex and Mike they dont have near the longevity, records, or impact as JB or an of the other greats for that matter. Lex is already seems to be falling off (hopefully he just taking a little hiatus). But his style his too similar to the Young chop, Mike Wills, and Drumma Boy that he's probably getting phased out which is the same thing that will happen to Mike Will and Chop in a year or so.

In the latter maybe.

Blaze has some serious sample flips from time to time (Breathe, Exhibit C, etc)

but his chopping game pales to the classic soul/jazz choppers like Pete and contemporary guys like Exile.

Massive amounts of his old beats also sound :flabbynsick: IMO. For every Roc the Mic there are bunches of cheesy guitar flips and repetitive snares. When that Complex bit about his greatest production was up a few months ago went through his discog and a lot of it had me :aicmon:

This! And if Saigon dropped when he was supposed to it would have been a classic. Transport that album to 06-07 and it's one of the best.

Just can do any style man. If anything I think that he's underrated.

I wish we could get a thread started on Nottz

Why should we give people credit for recording their own "samples" instead of sampling records

It makes no difference to the listener and it doesn't make the producer any doper for hiring some musicians to record an original "sample"

:comeon: you wanna give props for someone using a new technique to make the same old music

Compton had a sample in it and even if it didn't it would still be a tired retread of old beats

Mike Will and Luger can make heat without trap. Have you even wondering if they really made the beat. They stepped out of their sound a long time ago. They are both versatile as fukk.
