it all depends on how much money you want to spend. but "future proofing" is just a myth. when was the last time you heard someone brag about their gtx 480? a gtx 580 barely outperforms a gtx 660. all these disposable income cats that copped a gtx 680 will probably turn around and cop a gtx 780 when they drop

Just answer my question bro :stopitslime:

I think I did. I mean you also have the option of getting a gtx 690. or sli 680's. or tri-sli 680's. or sli 690's. there's always the option to spend more money

plus a gtx 680 also needs a psu with at least 38 amps on the 12v. that HP comes with a 300w psu that can't handle that. in fact, you'll probably have to upgrade that regardless of the gpu you get

i agree.
fukk paying $400 for a card.
i have a 560ti and it handles everything i throw at it with everything set to max and getting 45-60 fps.

only game i've had a problem with was Sleeping Dogs and all i had to do was turn the Anti Aliasing from high to medium.
at high AA i was getting 12 fps.
at medium it shot to 45-55 fps.
everything else was set to extreme and i have the enhanced texture pack.

the 560ti is about $250-$260 and i will be rocking this for the next 3 years.

45 fps is horrible,

you get a high end card so you dont drop below 60 fps.. if your game stutters and the enemy game dont stutter, you are done in the game.

if you are just casual gaming or have no problem not being close to the best at any game then yeah disregard this post

I'm sayin though, you're at like $1300 now. you've had to get in there and replace the psu. and you got an extra psu and gpu laying around (and good luck re-selling that crap)

you would have been way better off building it yourself

I don't think many people get into Sleeping Dogs for the multiplayer

like I said, most people that seriously play multiplayer pc games usually turn everything down regardless of their system

I see. building a computer from scratch is too difficult, but replacing a psu is easy :heh:

600 dollars? For sure I got my gaming rig for $550 off of Newegg and it plays the most recent games at least 30fps on high

45 is the lowest my shyt gets and that is still pretty fukking smooth.
when i play LFD2 i'm at 60fps the whole time.
with Far Cry 3, everything maxed out i'm 50-58 FPS and that shyt is smooth as hell.

i just finished playing Crysis 3 beta online with all setting on high (not max) and i was getting 50fps...smooth.

i'm sure 60 fps is nice but i don't think i would notice the difference between that and 50 fps.

replacing the psu is probably the hardest part of building a pc from scratch.

I can notice a huge difference at 50 FPS compared to 60 FPS..

60 fps - 120 fps, its all the same, but the moment it drops below 60 fps, then you can notice a difference. Thats why we get high end computers and graphic cards so we never drop below 60 fps..

If im getting 60-80 fps but never go below 60 fps trust me im in a far better place in a game than someone getting 45-60 fps. The difference is huge..
