Most people I know aren't a fan of tpab and a lot think Kendrick boring(I'm not one of them)

Kendrick has a ton of weak features also

But is Drake sending dudes to throw people off hills, being in safe house and all that type of shyt? Ross eats crab meat and wing stop.

But all in all I fukks wit your list and its official. But really most don't knows krit like they do the others, so u can't say They don't have nothin bad to say if they don't pay much attention to him.

- Those people you know are anecdotal jah like tho. If you remember there was some resistance when Drake first got on the scene and it didn't go away overnight. It wasn't that long ago that he was still getting backlash just for simply being Drake. Kendrick never had that problem, ever. He's literally grown with each project. "Nothing Was The Same" came and went. And let's not act like it didn't. Let's also not forget about how Kendrick played longball with Drake when they had their little thing goin on.

He got him on "King Kunta" at a time when Skill and Authenticity and Integrity was at the forefront of the Mainstream Discussion at a Moment in time people wont forget. Can anybody off the top of their head remember What or Why or How Drake came at Kendrick to even have the issue between them Two "allegedly" pop off in the first place? I think not. But you will remember Quentin Miller and Ghostwriting in Hip Hop, and Kendrick's biggest record to date so far. And also all you'll remember is that Drake has a Co-Writer and Kendrick is that nikka even if they both them Negus

Plus, TPAB will stand the test of time way better than GKMC and I wouldn't even doubt that his next record will be too. Musically, Time is going to favor that album alot more than his Major Label Debut. It just is what it is.

No it won't, cause tbh his popularity was overstated, he hadn't reached that level that he was being placed on. It was the hype around gkmc that got a lot of people riding wit him, and the album was mask in gangster rap wit a deeper social layer that most of his new found hype based fanbase didn't really value or care for much, and most didn't understand what songs like swimming pools even meant.

Next album goes that new found fanbase doesn't want to take that ride wit him cause they wasn't really fans like that in the first place and the reception of the people on the album is negative(I loved the album)

In reality cole is much more liked in real life, I hear nobody say bad shyt bout cole and most of his fanbase been riding wit him since 09

That's cause J Cole is a safe, non-progressive artist that doesn't challenge his listeners like that.

Kendrick gets overrated and some nikkas oversell him but he at has creativity with his imagery, concepts, and storytelling Cole normally doesn't on his albums.

I see where you coming from.

Then going by this criteria... Wasalu #1 :banderas:

Nah but forreal the masses elect Cole and Kendrick as "that dude". KRIT don't get his just due.

Krit is more favorable than Cole and never had to grow on people. Cole had to grow on people and was almost Shelved Indefinitely in the process.

Cole couldn't even get a release until the very end of 11' and it was universally accepted that it was a lukewarm watered down album. Kendrick's popularity was never overstated unlike some of the others in the Top 10/Top 11 of the game (keeping Objectiveness in mind). Kendrick continues to grow and be respected. I remember when GKMC came out and all of those Fairweather/Fly By Night People hopped on Kendrick. Immediately once he signed to Aftermath the people who were already fans of Kendrick were chuckling at People and how late they were.

If this makes sense. You're blinded by the Machine verses the actual Artist relevance in the times. You have to step back and really get a Sense of what's going on instead of whose picture is on the Headlines the most the prior few Months beforehand. Krit sticks to you more than Drake. But Drake is the bigger Star and has a more diversified energy to him. You'll hear Drake at BBQ's, inside Retail Stores, etc etc. You wont necessarily get that type of Exposure with Krit simply becuz of Connections & Payola. And it gives off a false sense of Meaning sometimes when you're talking about Top 5, Top 10, etc Legacies. Because whole time you might've just heard Drake on the Radio (FM or XM) whether it be you listening or somebody across the street at the store blasting it out their car. But whole time dude or shawty sittin' right next to you is bumpin' Krit or Migos on their MP3 Player.

If Kendrick is overrated then Jay-Z has been overrated every single year since his Roc-A-Fella debut in 96'

What makes Jay (especially in 96') more overrated than Kendrick?

You have to consider the climate Jay came up in compared to Kendrick. I love Kendrick's music but as far as the mainstream, the nikka is winning gold medals in the Special Olympics.

I was being sarcastic but I was bein 100 at the same time.

Because Jay has elevated "every year" just like Kendrick has. Not only that, he was rappin before he was on a Nationally Recognized Imprint.

And I don't know why you shyttin on the options of Today. Yeah it's not our Uncle's Rap but it's still all eMCing at the end of the day

I like the options of today. This is my generation (born in 96')

But climate is everything. The 2010's ain't shyt compared to 96' if we keeping it 100
