Is Kendrick Lamar Overrated?

GKMC have 6 great tracks + swimingpools/good kid which are cool songs from time to time.

Section 80 have 9 great tracks the rest are good (minus the hook on no make-up) + I love the vibe of the chapter tracks.

I can see why people like GKMC more, I especially see why music critics and non hip hop fans would like it more. But If I want to play a whole album from front to back with out having to skip songs or stop listening when there is still two more tracks to go, I would pick section 80 over GKMC. I wont even go in to why I think GKMC is flawed in other ways because I do think its a good album and some of my favorite Kendrick songs are on it. It feels stupid trying to point out weaknesses on a great album just to show people why I think its being overrated by a few.

I like OD better than both.

That clown Rosenberg overrates him for sure.

However, if Kendrick keeps up his current pace then he'll be one of the greatest ever when it's all said and done. And GMKC IS one of the best albums of the 2000s. My opinion of course.

I don't think it does, why does an opinion have to bias? When I listened to GKMC it was completely objectively with no bias at all. There was some expectation/excitement cause I'd heard it was very dope but no negative bias, so was just about the music, didn't know dude to have any bias towards him.

Yes and no, so I didn't vote
Kendrick is an awesome storyteller with a dope flow

but if you put his lyrics on paper it's not that great
it's nice story telling wise but not lyrically

Control is the best example, his flow was amazing!!!!!
But............. on paper lyrics were almost nothing

So in conclusion he is a great storyteller with a great flow
Lyrics is another topic though, he's not at all a great lyricist like those in my sig!

I see what you mean, I think cause he raps rapidly sometimes and with energy people think he's being lyrical, but lyrically I wasn't impressed, I actually listened to the lyrics not just be like he's rapping fast so must be a genius lyricist. Or used some metaphors, has to be potency with any technique for it to be effective. There was a lot of flaws I'd see. I expected more. I guess some people maybe rate him highly cause he shyts on some of his contemporary's at the moment. But to me if you compare GKMC to Ready To Die, Illmatic, OB4CL, Capital Punishment and many others it falls short.

No it's not, it could be an honest objective opinion which it is, bias would be having something against him, to me was the contrary, was looking forward to hearing some great new work and a great MC.
