LeBron is really criminally underrated in these regards especially nowadays...as far as footwork, shooting, post work.

MJ was a better scorer than prime Kobe. Kobe took a bunch of wild shots so those streaks where he was on, he was great, but there are way more peaks and valleys.A lot of intangibles (ease of schedule, league trends, conference, Piston/Mark Cuban rules, etc.).
I definitely think Lebron is sustaining his prime at a rate similar to Jordan.
I still have never seen a better scorer than prime Kobe though. Dude was bound to go off for something special any night and you could at least expect 23 points because dude had nobody to pass it to.
It's kind of like a Shaq/Hakeem vs Kareem comparison. I need to win this year, maybe go for a 3 peat: Kobe/Hakeem/Shaq/Dirk (not necessarily by position). Long term dynasty competitive every year: Kareem/Magic/Jordan/Lebron/Duncan.
Pop even had to tell his players to:
I agree with you about MJ's approach being better but that 54% FG is also a product of its era.MJ was a better scorer than prime Kobe. Kobe took a bunch of wild shots so those streaks where he was on, he was great, but there are way more peaks and valleys.
That's what separates MJ and Kobe. Kobe was probably just as skilled as MJ but 1) He was never as good of an athlete, and 2) MJ's approach to scoring was a bazillion times better than Kobe's. That's why he was shooting 54% in his prime despite playing 1-on-5 all game

Walking Bron Bron or the Bron who couldn't post a Smaller guard in Miami finals against Spurs and how is that knock on Lebron?![]()
Yet James played better against Boston than Kobe didYou a clown. Detroit had 3 defenders on Kobe on most plays. That's why LA lost because he refused to pass. Boston would double and triple team Kobe over and over in 2008 and 2010. LeBron wasn't making the Finals back then so you probably didn't watch.

Dude was shooting 55% on twos when the average was 49%, and the game wasn't as perimeter oriented as it is now.I agree with you about MJ's approach being better but that 54% FG is also a product of its era.
dude is just good at taking up space like shaq did hell nahdude is just good at taking up space like shaq did
and with todays rules (which doesnt really effect that much with his game)
how are you supposed to stop a bulldozer when you cant handcheck?
even with handchecking I think he would put up similar numbers
but he has no moves and alot of those points were put up on this new traveling bullshyt
completely different game now I try not to compare anymore ...put him in a few decades ago and he barely gets a shot off

The crab dibblesomeone tell me please, what is LeBron's go to move?
Jordan-fadeaway
Kobe- pivot fadeaway
Shaq- dropstep
Dirk - 1 leg fadeaway
Duncan - corner bank shot
Harden - eurostep
Kareem skyhook

Who the hell said that Kobe wasn't double-teamed by Boston?
Ain't no one ever guarding Kobe like that.![]()
In the 80's a high volume scorer shooting 50% wasn't out the norm. Entire teams shot 50% in the 80's. There were no zones, less athletic players, awful transition defense, higher pace, more FT attempts leaguewide.Dude was shooting 55% on twos when the average was 49%, and the game wasn't as perimeter oriented as it is now.
