Not yet. I wouldn't put him pass Manning, Brady, and Montana just yet. He gotta have the longevity and the numbers. He's gotta keep this going for a while.

Isn't that more a barometer for greatness than talent?

Yes cause he can does stuff ive never seen

U like cant sack him. He back pedals and throws at arm angles no one ever has.

When 99 percent of qb run out of bounds when getting chased. He will run contort body and throw it 40 yards

The way he runs around the line scrimmage but never goes over the line and gives himself a few extra seconds is crazy

He can throw in pocket as well as out of pocket on run etc

He sneaky athletic as well

103 td 20 int 2.5 years prob gonna be 2 mvp as well

that back pedaling he did last week against the Raiders was amazing. I never cared about NFL but I do now

Yeah, but you still gotta put the time in to be considered the greatest. I believe longevity is apart of being the greatest too.

I said that to say I think we can only look at his talent level in his third yr starting, not greatness in totality. I don't think OP was talking about him being the GOAT but I could be mistaken. At least the way I look at it best and greatest are different. I won't speak on Marino or Montana, but I think Rodgers is better than Brady and Manning, even tho they are more accomplished/greater. I already know how the old heads feel about Marino, but I didn't get to see it. The way I took the thread was looking at the throws and runs, weighing team accomplishments less, who has impressed you the most.

I'm biased than a mf tho, fully admitted

I gotta be honest I stopped reading once you said Rodgers is better than Peyton and Brady. He is not better than them AT ALL. He's only been to one super bowl. I do not get why people try to put Rodgers up there like that. He's overrated as hell.

And as for Mahome he's not really doing anything we haven't seen already. 50 touchdowns, game winning drives, superbowls. We've seen it all before. That's why I bring up longevity and numbers. If he does it just as long as they did and ends up with better numbers or just as good then yeah I can see him being the best ever. But right now he is not the best I've ever seen yet.

Somewhere on an Xbox
Marino has too many shytty playoff performances to be put in the top five. He's definitely a top five passer, but a top five QB is a stretch.

You do realize NFL Media and heads were saying these same things about Manning as well, throughout most of the 00s? Then the conversation picked back up when he came back off that neck injury crushing shyt in Denver...

Specifically, the conversation was, "is this guy the best we've ever seen at the position?"

You dudes have no respect for history, even recent history, it aint like Manning retired 38 years ago or something. This guy in his prime innovated the position from the line of scrimmage, and I'm not about to overvalue "mobility" because he had possibly the highest IQ a QB has ever had that negated the fact he was immobile...

He beat defenses with his brain way before he beat them with his arm, and we not about to act like he didn't have an arm to make every single throw. Every single one...

We also gonna stop painting this air of perfection around Mahomes, I saw him throw at least two idiotic passes yesterday, which isn't unusual for him, its just more often than not he completes the pass and people forget it wasn't an actual smart play, so when he misses, its ignored...

Marino--->Favre--->Manning--->Rodgers--->now Mahomes. He's the latest evolution in these guys, I keep telling you prisoners of the moment lol...how he plays in big games will ultimately determine where he winds up All-Time, but on a pound for pound scale, I've yet to see anything convincing of why he's better than any of those guys. None of these guys played in vacuums and your surroundings and organizational infrastructure have to enter the comvo at some point...

Also, he ain't better than Wilson or Watson, he just has better support than those two. He certainly hasn't held up this level of elite play as long as Russ, so holla at me when he sustains this for longer, and Watson is flat out on par with this dude without the requisite weapons from the top down...

Stop it, don't do that...

I agree he's on pace. Taking nothing away from him, Mahomes is amazing, the best QB in football if only because he's the most exciting and on the best team. The way he's come out the gate is prolific but it isn't unprecedented, so people lose me with these "best we've ever seen" rants like there aren't guys this was said about prior...

Not as old as you but having grown up in the era that caught Manning's entire career and his entire prime, that alone gives me a no to this question. Not even mentioning watching Brady and Brees for 20 years, two guys who not the most naturally gifted but one is the unquestionably the most clutch QB I've ever seen period, and the other when he was at his apex, had a cannon that carried a piss-poor defense and a revolving door of middling skill position pieces in New Orleans for YEARS....

Anybody giving a yes to this question automatically I'm questioning their football IQ...

i agree with u with the peyton manning i have him as the goat with rodgers

This prisoner of the moment shyt with Mahomes is confounding. It wasn't even but a few years back people were having these conversations about Rodgers, and they said the same things about Manning for years, literally...

The funny thing is there's a similar active thread on Derrick Henry right now, and everybody in there is like :whoa:, "pump the brakes", naming a bunch of All-Time backs as reason why you can't put Henry in the conversation. But with Mahomes, you name All-Time quarterbacks and the same nikkas shoot it down on some "nope, Mahomes better" shyt...

shyt is ridiculous...

Watching Wentz and I forgot to add one of my favorite things about Mahomes that makes him special is the anticipation. He knows when to just throw it to a spot so he's able to get the ball off before taking the sack because he sees the opening early. Even in the Super Bowl with that 45 yard bomb to Tyreke most QBs wouldn't have completed that throw because they would've waited a second longer to make sure Tyreek was open before letting it go. Mahomes felt that pass rush and just threw it to the spot
