It was speculation, it wasn't unanimous. Brady was being brought up, true...but people would also bring up Terry Bradshaw had a gang of wins too. Statistically, Brady wasn't top 5 anything his first 5-6 years...you just had to bring him up because he won 3 championships.

He just won...not discounting that, but Troy Aikman "just won" too. Statistically Aikman wasn't a beast nor is he top 10 QB's either, but he skirted the conversation because you can't deny 3 superbowl wins.

It was a different conversation prior to Moss. A speculation conversation...People before Moss brought up the Tuck rule and he only won by 3 on the backs of his defense prior to Moss. Once Moss got there, then Welker, then Hernandez and Gronk, people started saying Brady was an undisputed GOAT.

Brady led the NFL in TDs in 2002

In 2005 he was #1 in passing yards

What's wilder is, Brady is one of the GOATs, but even with the 3 superbowl wins...he didn't really show GOAT status until Moss showed up in what; year 8?. Mahomes is showing that without any equivalent receivers. By year 2, you knew he was something different.

By himself, Mahomes is like a hybrid Dan Marino and Steve Young to me.

Completely agree.

The 2 Superbowls during Brady's Prime had him losing to the Giants. Crazy. His best years IMO was the gap in between.

Before Pat, ARod talent wise was the best I saw with my eyes, but he consistently came up short. Pat hasn't.

Brady was a game manager at same time of their career.. Manning was still thought of as better qb and it didnt really flip til Moss and Welker team where Brady became a passing beast.. Also even when he had more titles than Manning it was still argument because titles didnt become end all till next decade for Lebron mj debate type stuff..

The pace and what he is doing this early in his career is incredible. Never seen anything like it, and to think if a DE wasnt offside he would start his career going to this many super bowls, its insane.. I dont think rings determine if you can have the convo, convo is already being had.. The rings will just seal the deal. He is already at the table in just a few years

Mahomes 6 years in was 2022

Brady 6 years deep was 2007... 18-1 arguably the greatest NFL QB season ever :gucci:

He’s better than Marino. I’ll give respect to Montana because he was the coolest cat ever in pressure moments……..
No he isn't.
MArino is on another level from all these modern cats, he didn't have the offensive favored ruleset and he played in an era where QBs weren't coddled and protected and still put up those numbers.

Far from it.
This isn't the NBA I don't care about team accolades. He has underperformed but I'm talking just pure QB skill

Brady destroys mahomes in presnaps, pocket presence, and pocket awareness. Things casuals dont know nothin about.

Brady is on a whole new tier when it comes to reading the D.

Mahomes improvises like Rodgers and in the end it will bite his ass and will take L more often than not.

Thank you. The media has spun it to where Brady was basically Trent Dilfer from 01-06.

Gtfo. Brady led the league in passing categories one of those years, was top 10 in most statistical categories, was already regarded as top 5 in year 3, had many comeback wins, and was already regarded as one of the top cluch player without top 15 weapons. Dilfer? Lol stop it.

The rings are a conversation starter. We talk about Marino's unbelievable talent but nobody is seriously arguing he's the greatest quarterback ever, and it's simply because he doesn't have one. Winning is as much a part of quarterbacking as anything else and Marino only won his division 4x in 16 years, had just one Super Bowl appearance that he lost, a losing AFCCG record, and a .500 playoff record...

Marino is overrated but he could still be mentioned as the GOAT if he played in 4 SB's like Kelly or won more than one MVP...

The thing with Mahomes is he won that Super Bowl in Y3 so the conversation was started. He has everything in his favor to keep climbing the mountain. That Montana/Brady level only comes with consistent dominance, and to be fair he's that 6 years in. But it's also a ton more winning...

As it stands the trajectory is in his favor for sure...

He’s better than Rodgers. Rodgers stay underachieving. He’s only been to 1 SB all those years……….
Rodgers had terrible to overrated teams his entire career in my opinion but to your credit we've never see Aaron do what Pat did last night and carry a complete corpse of a team on his back

But 1 SB is still more than the majority of QBs so I don't take that lightly

Marino used to be bought up in these convos tho, because he was THAT good slinging the rock.. I think when eras change and the criteria changed is when his name stopped being bought up.. I remember old heads always talking positively about him in last generation tho.. But either way Mahomes is that dude, no doubt in my mind.. Dude came in first year out throwing like 50 TDs, no look passes, got a ring already.. Now he got to have 10 to have a convo?? This dude was throwing to a dude named kemp in crunch time yesterday and I never heard of him..

Mahomes is Rodgers going supersayian.

I will defend Rodgers prime years 2011-2016. But after that, it's fair game. Mahomes has proven he's a winner in every aspect and has shown he's the most talented as well. We knocked him for having weapons and yet he balls out with a depleted offense. This aint a knock on Mahomes but he does have Andy Reid. I wouldnt imagine what the offense under Rodgers would of looked like if Reid was coaching in his prime. Reid had Alex Smith looking like a legit QB 1 :wow:

Nah I cant back this. I been watching football since 1989 and Marino, even to this day, was one of the best QBs I ever witnessed. fukk the rings, he is easily one of the GOATs.
