Still Marino.

I dont think many of yall understand what its like to experience a paradigm shift take place before your eyes.

The passes he was throwing….
Dan Marino in 1984 was GOAT level but after that he wasn’t the same

That Monday night game against the Bears in 1985 was peak Marino in my opinion :wow:

He put up numbers but it wasn’t the same Don Shula let him down

For me it was def Dan that caught my eye on some this nikka is :damn:

Then came ARod

And now it's Pat.

3 most talented QBs I've seen and Pat is even more talented than them 2 IMO.

Dan still has the best 5000 yard season considering the era he did it in.

In real time, Elway was NEVER in Marinos league. He himself said Bernie Kosar was his rival, but you wont find that in your stat whoring after the fact.

Marino was always ahead of Elway until TD changed his perception.

This is the lived in experience facts.

This.

Far from it.

Brady destroys mahomes in presnaps, pocket presence, and pocket awareness. Things casuals dont know nothin about.

Brady is on a whole new tier when it comes to reading the D.

Mahomes improvises like Rodgers and in the end it will bite his ass and will take L more often than not.
Mahomes was reading the D and changing protections and audibiling his first year starting.
They didn't let Brady do that to year 3 - 4.
Mahomes was forced to rely on protection and thinking against the Bengals, did that bite him in the ass?
Stop it, Brady is nice but he isn't in the same stratosphere as Manning at pre snap reads and adjustments, nor Rodgers.

He has some of the best physical tools seen at the position. He's HOF and eventually top 5 regardless. But I need to see him outside of the Reid/Bieniemy system. Even losing Hill doesn't mean much as Reid had a long history of creating schemes that carried good teams with trash options. Brady and Manning both did it so would be nice to see what Mahomes is with coaching a notch under the HOF coach he has

  2. Montana
  3. Manning
  4. Marino
  5. Staubach
  6. Rodgers
  7. Mahomes
  8. Brees
  9. Graham

Shouts to Warner, Elway, Young, Farve, Kelly, Moon

Mahomes is going to pass Rodgers and Staubach if he gets another ring this year. He gets a 3rd ring he'll be better than Manning and Marino. I put Marino that high because of the era he was in. He threw 5,000 yards at a time you could clothesline and horsecollar tackle people, with no serious threats at receiver. He's not number 1, because winning means something, but pure talent and stats, 2 of my 3 stats he is amongst the best. I can't go earlier than 90-91 with Marino because I was a kid, so correct me if I'm wrong here.

I say Mahomes can pass Marino and Manning because Marino didn't win anything and Manning would often disappear in the playoffs and 1 of his 2 superbowl victories he disappeared. Mahomes never seems to disappear, even when they lose Mahomes will be throwing shyt at the wall to see if it sticks. That says something to me.

If Mahomes has 10 years of this level of play and 3 rings, I'll put him above Montana. I can put him above Montana because as great as Kelce is, he's no Jerry Rice. And knowing Andy Reid, he's not really going to go out of his way to get him superstar talent at receiver or running back.

Have to wait to see how his whole career pans out to see where he lands compared to Brady, but he has that trajectory to be great than Brady especially at this point in his career.

He also has Andy Reid, who seems to know how maximize a quarterbacks talent. Made Garcia and Smith formidable. McNabb was great his first 5 years, and competitive his last 5 under Reid. Vick actually became a pass first, run second, borderline MVP in 2010 under Reid. Got to the playoffs with AJ Feeley. Say nothing about Farve. And Mahomes is arguably; no argument really; the most talented he's ever work with.

He will be unstoppable in any scheme. A sizeable portion of his plays are backyward football off script type of plays. Reid is the best offensive mind in the history of the game who lucked out on the most talented quarterback to ever play the game

Concerning Rodgers vs Mahomes, other than longevity, I don't see the argument for Rodgers ahead of Mahomes anymore.

Rodgers has had far too many failures in his career.

Mahomes is the better, more talented quarterback and has been far more dominant than Rodgers was in only 5 years. He's already played as many conference championships as Rodgers (5) and has been more successful. Rodgers has a pitiful 1-4 record in conference championships.

Mahomes will now play in 3 superbowls and has 1 championship compared to Rodgers 1 superbowl appearance and 1 championship.

You arguing just to argue, did I say Elway was a better quarterback skill-for-skill, or make an assumption on real time perspective, or run in here with stats?

It's not in dispute that Elway was the greater crunch time, big game quarterback, so is there something you have that disputes this? Marino couldn't win road playoff games and typically when he lost games he got his head knocked off...

This isn't a "data nerd" mine, I'm asking you to explain these things. You wanna go Angry Old Man have at it, I'm bout to create that Marino thread though 🤣...

I don't know this, thus my comment. When the QB has played his entire career with the best QB whisperer and offensive schemers in NFL history I think it's fair to see how he does in another system, especially when we've seen how Mahomes has looked in the rare occasions he's had to throw the ball immediately. Mahomes creating backyard plays off of pressure benefits immensely by having guys schemed to be open in that intermediate level. That raw talent ain't mean shyt when Todd Bowles came with a scheme to counter what his former boss came with
