The MCU needs competition. They’ve been on top of the game for so long that they don’t feel like they need to try anymore.
- Black Widow came out way too late. Movie should have dropped between Infinity War and Endgame.
- Spider-man was dope. Easily the best part of Phase 4.
- Shang Chi started off strong but turned into a bloated CGI-fest in the third act.
- The writers nerfed Thor, Hulk, and Strange just to hype up other characters.
- Love and Thunder should have been about Thor vs Beta Ray Bill. Thor is a dope character in the comics (like in the Walt Simonson run for example), but the movies made him soft.
- Multiverse of Madness wasted the Illuminati.
- She-hulk was boring (which is a shame because she’s a fun character in the books, especially the John Byrne era)
- The Eternals?
- They should have bit the bullet and recast T’Challa… Shuri can’t carry a movie IMO.
- Quantumania should have been a Fantastic Four movie.
- They’re putting out way too many projects at once, and their CGI quality is suffering as a result.
If Marvel doesn’t knock it out of the park with X-men, it’s a wrap. I’m predicting video games will be the next big thing in Hollywood, because this whole superhero thing is starting to burn itself out.
