He could be, but only cause of death. If marvin gaye were still alive he'd be in the same boat as Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin etc. Basically a black legend who people aren't really checking for now. Let's not forget his drug habit was fukking up his money so he would've probably sold his publishing and today would be relegated to singing hooks for hiphop records just to pay the bills while doing Superbowl half time shows with Elton John and Prince while we shake our heads and said geez why didn't this guy just die in the 80s

:leon: Well sometimes events have to fall in line for historical purpose and to enhance the significance of that person. MLK and and Malcolm X would probably get boxed in with our current black speakers and leaders now if they didn't go when they did.

But I will say...Stevie Wonder is in the GOAT conversation.

We as black folks tend to ignore our entertainers bad sides when we factor in GOAT labels and what if scenarios, especially when it comes to Tupac N Biggie. nikkas act like if Pac were still alive he'd be the leader of some new revolution ala Che Guevara and the rap game wouldn't be what is now as if the music industry revolved around Pac. Who knows maybe if Pac were still alive today he probably would've been like "fukk rap ya'll nikkas keep bootlegging my music off the net, I'm just gonna be just an actor now." Hell, Biggie sold all of his publishing to Puffy for 250K. Maybe Biggie would've pulled a Mark Curry and wrote a tell all book snitching on Diddy. The only thing I can say is if Biggie never died Jay-Z wouldn't be as big as he is now.

I'm white, so I hadn't got into soul music until just recently. I've only listened to What's going on, which is fukking incredible. Inner city blues is my favorite.

Stevie Wonder is :ahh: too. I've only listened to songs in the key of life. Some of the gospel stuff I don't like but shyt like

SOHH ICEY MONOPOLY

My sohh icey brotha, what?

Prince made better music, was a better performer, and was a better musician.

Prince is considered a Rock and funk god, and is one of the GOATS on the guitar.

he is a better musician cant front, but i dont like his persona and thats a large part of his appeal as a artist, rick just had the market cornered on swag for years prince has always been a weird little fukk... 'kiss' is my shyt tho :stylin:

Soul will change your life. Being white , you should also read "The White Negro" by Norman Mailer. Just throwing it out there.
