Not to my ears

Standards got so low, that any half decent projects gets the classic tag.

Honestly I found most of the album, just not that interesting, musically or vocally.

Umm no it's the exact opposite. How many albums in the last 10 years are even in the conversation of being a classic. A dozen tops?

Compare that to 1990-1999. People want to name a dozen albums a year a classic, when in reality most of those albums didn't age well and are un-listenable today. I think there's probably about 15 true classics from the 90's, no more.

It's all nostalgia and the false notion that there was ever a "golden era." There wasn't. Music changed, it didn't get better or worse. The change may make the music better or worse to people with certain taste, but that doesn't change the overall quality.

The people saying it's not good probably only listen to rap music.

Probably this.

Not a very strong rebuttal....

I disagree with that comment, to say the people who don't like it only listens to rap music is ridiculous imo, it's not a classic Hip Hop album to me at all, like i said in the previous comment i made, there's a few tracks i liked on the album but the majority of the album i'm just not feeling, it's not unbearable but when i'm listening to it i'm not exactly in awe of the album either :manny: i like his previous albums more than this album. I also don't agree with your comments where your saying there's only 15 classic albums from the 90's and there was never a golden era in Hip Hop, there's a hell of a lot more than 15 classic albums, what albums would you say were classic?

I would definitely say so. What makes it such a classic to me is the atmosphere, there is no other Hip Hop project I've heard that was as grandiose, or epic. It felt like a Hip Hopera. Matter fact, there were few albums as epic as MBDTF period. shyt felt like someone took an ancient mythological Epic poem and put it into a Rap album. Just a classic.
