Damn near every new R&B song I hear by these new singers contain profanity :gucci:

I can't even listen to R&B anymore without being called a "n1gga" :what:

"All these n1ggas full of shyytttt"

"When dat n1gga pull up on me, tell dat n1gga back back"

"I'm so sick of you n1ggaz"

"I'm so bored wit myself, can you come and fukk me"

And any Chris brown song or hook you KNOW is gonna be full of profanity:

"I need you to bring all your friends and let's fukk it uuuupppp" :blessed:

The 2 most talented artists of today to me is Ari Lennox and Anderson Paak and I can't really listen to their music like that due to the profanity.

I'm at a point in my life where I've ascended mentally the past few years and I don't like alot of profanity in my music anymore. It sucks because I'm a HUGE R&B head but it's so cringe hearing these talented singers curse like rappers.

How hard is it to write a love song without using profanity??? Whose behind these lyrics??? Why would they think it's a good idea to "ratchet" up an artform that's supposed to be about love and affection??

I just don't get it. The "tinfoil hat" side of me thinks it's by design. Words are extremely powerful. They're literal spells and a part of me thinks it's by design to keep US (the masses) using these literal "curse" words even if subconsciously. Even those of you who DONT curse, will curse when singing along to these songs. Our kids will curse along to these songs and before you know it ....they're cursing regularly in their everyday talk.

What y'all think. Am I the only one that cringes at the profanity in R&B music or am I just getting :flabbynsick:

Y'all cool wit it or do y'all listen to the edited version?

R&B has always been about sex. The shyt then was no better. Yall kill me with constant bickering and selective criticism of todays music. At least R&B today aint promoting indulging in debauchery with underaged females

FOH!!!!!!!

Ikr

Minnie ripperton was making songs about getting nutted in, Bobby womack was fukking everybody's bytch, bootsy Collins was eating p*ssy, eddie kendricks was serenading his fukk buddy, smokey robinson was fukking a hoe behind his girl back, confunkshun was beefing over the same girl in a game of "love's train", and marvin gaye was turning out Christian girls :mjlol:

Music hasn't gotten more vulgar, artists just don't have to beat around the bush as much because of censorship :yeshrug:

What used to be spoken through innuendo can now be flat out said

Yeah it's terrible, hip hop and r&b is nothing more than a race to the bottom these days. I don't allow my daughter to be exposed to none of today's " Black music". It wasn't some perfect utopia in the 80s and 90s but at least R&B was more respectable. Now they barely have talent and don't use "real songwriters"

Read the entire post for context. Never said anything about Aaliyah using profanity, acknowledge the OTHER point I brought up. And you dont have to use profanity for it to trashy. Alot R&B old and new is trashy. Talking about sleeping with other another woman boyfriend/husband, "Doggystyle" by D.J, I could go on forever. These are great songs but them shyts are not as classy as yall make them out to be. shyt is literally no better than todays R&B.
You’re just babbling just to babble :mjlol:. Op was talking about cursing/ saying “nikka” in R&B songs and you posting Aaliyah songs (and talking about cheating):mjlol: you are a terrible poster:scust:
