Is Profanity/ the N-word MANDATORY In Today's R&B Music??

Read the entire post for context. Never said anything about Aaliyah using profanity, acknowledge the OTHER point I brought up. And you dont have to use profanity for it to trashy. Alot R&B old and new is trashy. Talking about sleeping with other another woman boyfriend/husband, "Doggystyle" by D.J, I could go on forever. These are great songs but them shyts are not as classy as yall make them out to be. shyt is literally no better than todays R&B.

I think the issue is how much of it is “trashy” these days. Sure you can select a couple songs every year that were released that fit that bill, but the majority of music wasn’t that in your face and raunchy.

Today, most of the R&B music is how the op described. Nobody is claiming that no one ever used to make music like that. Just like the people who always bring up that one song from like the 40s or 50s or something just say “See, they made raunchy music back then too!” Just cause one lady was out here thotting it up with our great grandfathers doesn’t mean it was normal in mainstream music like it is today.

Its already been alluded to but blue eyed soul singers can make OUR music without vulgarities or profanities.

Mean while, black artists are encouraged to appeal to the lowest common denominator. This is all by design. We don’t own these labels thus we dont’t control the narrative.

If Beyonce has to resort to such low hanging fruit, what hope is there for the next generation? Smh.

There's obviously an audience for this that'll eat this up.
I'm not tryna censor nobody but profanity has become a crutch for Black artists.
There's a time and a place.
You can talk all the "keep it real" shyt you want but too much of it cheapens the music and it cheapens us as a people.
Music shouldn't be for adults and ratchets only.
This chick is very talented, but I can't see this as the best of us.
