"bust shots outta sun roofs of Lexus coupes, leave no witnesses, what you think this is.
Ain't no amateurs here i damage and tear, Mc's fear me, ya too near , not to hear me.
Clearly I'm the triple beam dream, 1000 grams of uncut to the gut.
It seems fukked up the way I touched up the grill, tryna play guerilla when u ain't no killa.
The gats by your liver, your upper lip quiver,
Your ready to die, tell God I said hi,
And throw down some ice for the nicest Mc,
nikkas know the steelo, unbelievable."

I will defend RD forever, I was upset at how so many of my friends were sleeping in High School. It was a great album that did go Gold but got lost a little in the 96 shuffle back then. Better than RTD? Here's the thing. Everything about RTD was Legendary. The time it came out, the climate of New York and Hip Hop in general. Bad Boy starting to take over with "Flava in Ya Ear Remix". Then all the singles were all fire. The album cuts hit really hard. All the videos were dope.

It was a cohievesive project from beginning to end. It was a complete storytelling album so it played out like an audio movie or audio book/novel on wax. Like Big knocked that joint out of the park. So though RD has a lot of great songs and great performances by Jay (Oh yeah Big had a great performance on that album as well). I can't put it over RTD and even in real time, I still was bumpin RTD hard in 96 just two years after it was released when RD came out. Ready to Die is so Legendary the Baby Model that was on the cover is still having stories written about him.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
nikkas need to chill wit these types of threads cause u wont get legit discussion. U got nikkas in this thread shytting on classic albums. The Coli is trash as fukk. Lol. And to answer the question. One album came out 2 years earlier in 94 where the whole soundscape of hip hop was different than 96. But RD didnt age better based on the fact that nikkas is STILL quoting a bunch of shyt from RTD should let u know what it is. That’s Biggie’s gem no matter how many people try to rewrite history and place LAD like it’s another league from it.

Only in hip hop can pioneering legendary albums be called played out. Lol
All I'm saying is, you put just about any other hip hop classic in a pile with it, and I'm picking RTD dead last if at all. :hubie:

I'll take the high points of LAD over this all day.

I could see the argument for it being better, but I could also see the argument for RTD being better...
