Dope album...classic...jay-z's best album...Not the GOAT though..ppl gotta understand universal acclaim...that means outside of you and your crew...and despite what yall may feel..Illmatic holds the GOAT title cuz its acclaimed by cats on the west, east, and the south...rock cats, jazz, cats, hard rocks, soft dudes..it holds that title in many different circles..not saying this to hate on RD cuz to me I love the album...but it is what it is...

I'm having a real hard time imagining AZ getting more burn than Jay. Like a REAL hard time. Seems you may be semi Nas stanning with the AZ/Cuban Link inclusion.

SUGAR HILL and those r&b guest appearances AZ was doing. plus he had IT. i kinda liken him to a fabolous for his era.

thats neither here nor there. theres alot of stuff that gets held in high-regard years later that wasnt poppin like that in real-time. and on the flipside, theres people who were really running chit in their day but have been virtually written out of the record books in 2014 and replaced by cats who werent even important.

referring to reasonable doubt as a goat album is indeed revisionist. but whats even worse is people acting as if its not a classic and wasnt poppin back in the day.

also, you seem to think that im downplaying illmatic. well im not. the fact of the matter is, the same stuff being said in here to downplay RD is the same stuff thats said in anti-illmatic threads.
