Is Steph Curry on his way to passing up Zeke & Stockton & being the 2nd best PG after Magic?

He doesn't need to lead the league in assists. High individual assist numbers don't mean shyt. If you're getting all those assists and not running an efficient offense, what purpose does that style of play serve?

Let me put it like this for you - would the Warriors have the same amount of success if Curry cut his shooting proclivity back to looking to pass more than he scored?

Yes and since he shoots at an effect rate he still be able to get his average and score the same. Steve Nash in his back to back mvp years average 10.5 & 11.5 assist running the same offense.

Wizards aren't going anywhere with him soaking up all those possessions and not being able to make a jumpshot. Bad example.

It's coming...He's on a slow gradual trajectory...His 2 pt FG pct has increased every year from the low 40's as a rookie to near 50 last year..His 3 pt pct is still up shaky but if he can settle a notch above his 2013 numbers at around 38% that will be enough to keep people honest...

He's never gonna be a Steph/Lillard but he's an 80% FT shooter so he's no Rondo either...And unlike Rondo he has the baseline and the work ethic to improve as a shooter...

When Beal and Porter improve its gonna give him so much more space to create off the bounce...

The Wizards aren't going anywhere without a coach..

My dude, I should be asking how old you are if you out here referencing Tiny Archibald, I'm :flabbynsick: but not old enough to have seen no prime Tiny :wtf:

And check the 3 point attempts on :DripDrip:, Franchise and Marbury, they followed in the footsteps of Tim Hardaway, who was out here taking 8 threes a game at one point. You think Westbrook, Lillard, Curry, Kyrie etc was watching footage of Tiny Archibald :russ:

It always comes back to the 3's with you don't it n1gga? :russ:

Since you love 3's so much, I pray that Anthony Davis is locking himself in a gym all summer launching 25 footers...

I wish that Towns and Okafor never practice another drop step or up and under and enroll in Tim Legler's shooting camp...

You'll get the league you deserve for your high treason to the throne of Lew Alcindor, Hakeem and Timothy

:pacspit:

And all them n1ggas grew up wanting to be Kobe, were too short but said "fukk it up gunning anyway"

Oh, but I have embraced the 3s, because I see what comes next, I see it and I cannot wait :blessed:

You named a bunch of PF sized guys shooting 3s, that's been here for awhile, centers on the comeback trail :mjpls:

He who claims the low post is coming, and all these 3s will make him even more of a problem, the NBA's Reckoning is nigh!

The decline in the pass first point guard has a direct correlation with the decrease of importance in the post.

:sas2: @Malta

Hence, past first... As long as he can get in the paint and draw fouls or get to the cup in general, he should be Golden..... He gon need them shooters tho..... :lildurk:

I'd just like to say, fukk you @Malta and @PTBG for stealing the premise of my thread idea I was just about to draft up. :mjcry:
I was :flabbynsick: and archaic as fukk in thinking that you could never win a title with your PG as your best player, Chef Curry Da Gawd changed that rhetoric and has rewritten the record books. :wow: Can't hate on the soon to be best PG of our generation any longer.

Wrong. Curry was the #1 scorer in the postseason up until the Finals (finished #2 to LeBron) and he was the #3 scorer on PPM in the regular season. If he tapers his scoring for a more pass-first look, the Warriors don't have the same amount of success.

This Warriors offense isn't the same as those D'Antoni offenses. The only thing they have in common is playing at a fast pace. Nash could afford to lead the league in assists because he was never asked to carry the #1 scoring load - Curry can't do that, because they need him to be the leading scorer to maximize their chances at winning.

Wizards will only end up having success if his scoring (efficiency intact) goes up and his assists go down. Score-first Wall :smugdraper:

I will say this about Steph..He's special..None of these new PGs are really in his class because his game is so unique...I said he's like some computer mashed hybrid of Zeke and Reggie Miller...He's not a human...

:mjcry: Damn shame D-Rose got hurt, he should be in the convo with Curry & Russ as the best PG rivalries. Curry has broken every PG narrative there has been so far. Nobody thought a shoot 1st PG could win MVP or a title, he did both. He wasn't even supposed to be this good, look at who passed him over in the draft and most thought at best he could be an All Star, and he has shattered it all. He went to a teribbly ran Warriors franchise and has made them the bandwagon central for casuals. He definitely is heading towards that path, shyt he already a Hall of Famer in my book, he just did something you weren't supposed to do in the NBA and he barely in his prime.
