Curry's shooting has revolutionized the game on the court.

Jordan, in terms of the marketing of the game and merchandise revenue was revolutionary in a different way.

Jordan on the court, was a more machine-like, obsessive version of The Doctor's above-the-rim game. And even
that had elements of Connie Hawkins in it.

People seem to be misunderstanding OPs point. Y’all bringing up Jordan and shyt, yeah we know he’s the GOAT. But he didn’t really change the way the game was played, he was just on another level

curry revolutionized the 3 point shot and made it the premier shot of the league

Curry changed the definition of a bad shot

Fastbreak 3
Off the dribble 3
Pull up 3
3 from the logo

All of that was frowned upon and used only by a a few teams at best, before Curry. Now everyone does it

Jordan doesn't deserve credit for the huge increase in athleticism and emphasis on iso scoring from the 80's to the 2000's?

On-court, Russell (defense), Wilt (rule changes to limit big men), and Curry (3 pointers) changed the game the most.

Off-court, Oscar Robertson (collective bargaining), Jordan (global marketability), AI (hip hop cultures complete infusion into the NBA) and Bron (player empowerment era) have changed it the most.

What you're saying about MJ is actually exactly what goes for Curry. He didn't revolutionize it, he was just on another level at that particular skill right at the time when analytics started preaching it was the best shot.

Beard revolutionized the 3 point shot with the emphasis on the stepback and the gather step.

No. Curry did not change the game, the Warriors did.

Curry is the GOAT shooter, yeah. But the Warriors had a whole Arsenal of other weapons that changed the league.

shyt, Klay might be the second best shooter of all time. Draymond’s ability to play center forced slow bigs off the court. The Warriors ability to generate open 3s off of ball movement and make them at near automatic rates made them basically invincible.

Curry is not a transcendent player. If Curry were drafted by the Knicks, where would he be?

what if lebron had grant hills ankles would he have 4 rings
What if kobe never went to the Lakers and stayed in Charlotte would he have 5 rings

you see how pointless and stupid it is to start creating hypotheticals that never happened instead of looking at reality, you DUMB fukk

That was there before Jordan.

Isiah Thomas was a nasty iso scorer for instance. Adrian Darnley too. Mark Aguirre. Shoot, Jordan was a David Thompson stan. George Gervin too. These players were in the league before Jordan.

Jordan changed the 2guard position, but Curry changed basketball.

AI changed culture of basketball for a whole generation

Steph is on his way to do the same, give it 5 years after he retires u are gonna see many Steph clones in the league, we already seen some of the league emulate his style (we must acknowledge Klay and the entire GS offense played a role in this too)

But yeah I predict from 2030 going forward we are going to see Steph’s true impact on the game
