With respect to this site being a safe space for black men, I think it is. I think posters are mad sensitive and don’t understand that shyt talking is just part of the culture. For me, I don’t take it personal. I engage in it, have a little beef, move on, then forget about it.
I think we also need to make a distinction between serious and light-hearted thread topics.
Something serious to me is if a non-troll poster makes a thread and says “hey, I’m a having a mental health crisis right now and need help” or “I’m battling depression” or “I got this issue I’m dealing with, help me navigate it”, I think it’s those threads that makes the Coli a safe space because that’s when you see the serious side of posters willing to support, listen, offer advice, and help.
