No. Fix interior oline and get another pass rusher and they’ll be right there. Most importantly find a way to stay healthy. Entire units getting decimated with injuries multiple years in a row is extremely unlucky

Packers/Bears aren’t amazing teams. Packers went all in with Parsons and he’s out until mid next season. Bears have literally got every break go their way this year. They’re a mid ass team that will be crazy expensive very soon

If they bring back this same team the same thing will happen next yr, even with no/few injuries. Their key pieces are good enough though, that if they make a the right off-season moves they could be back next year.

Mid season?

ACL recovery is not that slow anymore. Nowadays players can make it back around 6-9 months. Mahomes and Micah have 10 months from the injury to the start of next season. They might be ready week 1. Even being cautious they won't be out until week 8.

Micah hasn't had surgery yet but if it's successful his recovery time is set for 9 months.

Lions best coach in its entire history left to go to coach the Bears and Lions wasn't going fire their best head coach since the 1950s.

This is the reality of a CEO situation. Ben Johnson was a generational playcaller, and Lions was in a situation that they had to show loyalty to the coach that got them there.

Campbell got to find top echelon play caller/coordinator. Sheppard looks phenomenal. Morton ain't it.

CEO model just isn't sustainable

The Lions should pay Mike McDaniel's buyout and hire him. He probably won't get another head coaching job, so he should be there a while , and he's a great play caller.

If they can fin a way to replace Goff with a more reliable QB in big time situations they'll continue to be in the hunt. But making that replacement ain't easy in today's NFL.

Unless they wanna take a risk and trade for kyler or tua in hopes it gets them over the hump (It won’t) It’s over
