The younger generation don't care because with social media/dating apps it is much easier, you got quantity and as a result quality suffers.

She may truly have fallen asleep or forgot it doesn't make it an excuse. That's why i always text/call people on the day of just to make sure they getting ready or haven't forgotten. I make sure they left the house so we get there around the same time. If they don't respond I won't waste my time by even going out. Problem solved. Women are always looking for the next best option so I always make sure to keep my myself available for others cause women have a tendency to be flakey.
