Yes, they had a small window to begin with. As good as they were, they were an old team and father time wasn't on there side. I don't think most people could have predicted this quick of fall from grace or this hard but a lot of people had this season as the last legit shot before the window closed. Thankfully the window has closed on them.

hard to say, you have 3 of the 4 best players on the team miss significant time that could be anyone. that doesnt even count Victorino who needs surgery and hasnt been 100% all year

but the hitting with RISP is atrocious (Pence is real bad), and they do not have a 9th inning comeback win yet so some of it is heart as well

Howard produces when hes healthy, its Rollins that has the wackest contract on the team. hes probably the worst 10M+ player in sports not named Rashard Lewis, he has no special value in any area anymore, and is an AWFUL situational player. im in their TV market and my family are diehards, Jimmy is fukkin painful.

Yes, I'm sure they aren't hitting in the clutch because of "heart"

Also, their OPS w/ RISP is only 9 points lower than the league average.

Howard produces HRs, RBIs and OUTs. Lots and lots of outs. Howard's contract is unquestionably worse than Rollins. It's not even fukking close.

U guys are stupid as fukk

How many division titles have we won? How many sell outs have we had? We won a World Series, went to another one over this span as well. Baseball is a funny game....if u havent played it i guess u dont understand it. Most times the best team doesnt necesarily win in the playoffs compared to the season (ex. We lost to the Cardinals last year) but its more about who's hot at the right time.

I dont know if its the national audience or just philly fans in general, just "waiting" for the phils to have an off year and to be able to say "see...Ruben Amaro sucks! derrrrr!"

He fukking went for it...he loaded up on starting pitching.. pitching wins in the playoffs over the course of the history of basebaell...we knew we had a small window of these homegrow players we had with Ryan Howard and Chase and Cole coming up through the system....we have a window of opportunity to get a second championship..he went for it last year...and injuries have fukked us this year. It doesnt mean he didnt do a good job though

Baseballs a weird sport like that. The bottom line is, Philly finally knows what its like to be a champion. Our Payroll is up there with the best of them, and thats really all that matters. We wont win this year, wont win next year...we had to commit to some bad contracts to keep these players so we had an opportunity in our "window"...but we most definitely arent going anywhere...and we will most likely lose Cole Hammels, who is the only 3 of our aces that we really should commit too. But...im glad we went for it

some fairweather fukking fans

The Howard contract is as unforgivable a mistake as a GM can make. Not only was it a gross overpay given his declining numbers and limited skillset, but it was entirely UNNECESSARY! His contract wasn't anywhere near expiring, you didn't have to commit to anything

Rollins isnt an out machine? he even gets a pass online, no one ever calls the guy out. hes been an average player for 4 years and even the brutal Philly market barely talks about it

they have to get an injury pass, and its too late to for them to recover extra WC spot or not. as constructed the team is old as hell but has enough SP to make a run next year, they need to fix LF and the bullpen badly. i thought b*stardo would emerge as a top setup guy, he has regressed badly. every other reliever outside of Pap is terrible

If he didnt get it here he would have gotten it elsewhere

U cant plan for an Achilles tear...shyt happens

Howard pisses me off worse than all (strikeouts...but its mainly based on expectations) but the bottom line is u see what this lineup is without him

If they had any brains they would shut him down for the rest of this season and just suck this one up...try to come back strong next year
