I'm getting old :francis:

it's because of geeks like J. COle and Drake getting in the rap game just because they happen to be an eighth black or whatever.

that opened the door for all kinds of losers to be like ' if they can do it why can't i?'

so now we got a bunch of people who aren't really rappers or don't know what it means to be a rapper who are considered as rappers

Future is RnB music, and respectfully doesn't answer my question.

You can't recall a single recent-ish hip hop album that had a slew of incredible tracks? When was the last time you felt something profound for this hip hop genre?
Honestly

Future

He was like an evolution of auto tune weezy :ahh:

But I like the weeknd and Frank ocean

I wasn't a fan of drakes last tape either

Idk..hip hop.....its boring as fukk right now. Everyone coming out sounds the same

Kendricks debut album blew me away........instant classic :wow:

Umm....I'm tryna think....

The people wanted 'regular nikka rap' & they got it, regular nikkas are boring, especially if they're from the burbs. The suburbs replacing the hood as the main source of rappers deaded a lot of things in the culture, larger then life characters being one of them.

NY Hiphop falling the fukk off also aided this, New Yorkers the most charasmatic people in the country, let's be honest.

1) Yes. All the songs are about exactly the same contentwise.

2) I never even had a thought like this during the Golden Era 1993-2003

nah, u just don't listen to much hip hop to know different

people with your mindset is the only thing what's wrong with hip hop

plenty of dope shyt out here, you just stuck in your ways

I respect that. His mixtape blew me away for real. Mostly because of the production, his voice and overall aesthetic.

What was the last hip hop project to blow you away? Not "oh that was aight." I mean like: "yo.... this is the one of the best things I've ever heard."
I know u wasn't talking to me but monster and 56 nights pretty much describe that feeling for me

TRUF.COM

That's probably the most concise description for why hip hop fell off. The hood started putting on regular hood nikkas (the dull ones), then the burbs snuck in.

I'm from the country that currently runs hip hop, but I've been to each region in the US (East, West and South). Got family all over the place. and truth be told, I find NYers the most charismatic in the country. Real talk. It reflects in their music too.

But now even the lames in NY run shyt.

I've got my group of artists Im interested in: .
this is pretty much where i'm at, every now and again they'll be a new cat i check for - isaiah rashad had a cool project, mick jenkins was dope, but a lot of stuff just isn't appealing to me anymore, and i'm not talking about just the goofy southern turn up dudes, i'm talking that rappity rap stuff as well. i like more chill artists, moreso because that's where my life is, i'm all about house parties, hanging with friends, chilling at the house, etc.

Yeah I thought I was growing out of it but I went back and listened to some old gucci and realized nikkas don't make songs for me no more like that. Like I think that 56 nights is the best mixtape so far out of 2015. I usually only listen to future or currensy (that is new) nowadays
