War & Peace
Jay stans being Jay stans.

All battle records by nature are very subjective but this one stands out for the sheer number of FACTS Jay was able to fit into it.
Lyrically it reads like a peer reviewed research paper.
"Sold more than your whole album sold in my first week" #FactsOnly
"Showed you your first Tec on tour with Large Professor" - Corroborated by those familiar with the situation
"When I was pushing weight, back in 88, you was a ballerina" - this one is up for review. likely off by more than a few years
The ENTIRE THIRD Verse is a blend of objective and subjective barbs. The ad-libs are just as vicious as the actual jabs. Listen to it and you can hear the cockiness in Jays delivery.
"you's the faq model for Karl Kani, Esco ads"

Maybe not faggy per se, but sus nonetheless.
"You Made it a hot line, I made it hot song" - Dead Presidents I and 2 are considered two of Jays strongest songs in his entire catalog.
Having listened to this record after 12 years it still sounds current. Drop some other FACTUAL disses from emcees.
No, You cant tell a double plat artist at the time he's irrelevant. so Jay loss off the break

---just off the top of my head.
Exactly why Takeover>>>>Ether.

No it's not. IMO, I thought Takeover was corny. Just being honest about my personal feelings. It only got the hype it did because it was Jay. It was Jay's subjective opinions not facts. The main reason Jay lost the battle to Nas, is because he was so cocky thinking that because he was the giant, and had the world's ears, and his money/status, that he'd automatically win. He quickly realized he woke up a sleeping giant. The reason Ether hurt Jay so much, wasn't because the diss was factual or whatever, but because it wounded his ego, pride, manhood. Something his money and fame could not cover up. His insecurities got exposed. And that was way more damage than any "factual" diss record could ever do. It penetrated him as a human being. He got his humble pie that day.
