Is there a mass exodus of people from GSDG to iPhone?

As many others in here I've been a proud GSDG member since the G1. I've had almost every Nexus except the One. I've done the rooting/rom'ming and all that shyt for years.

Once Lollipop came out it seemed like I just started to hate Android. It ruined my 1+1. shyt became slow and battery life was way worse. I chalked it up to a trash company and I got a N6 knowing it would hold me down since I loved my N5. It was one of the worst phones I've ever had considering the price. The battery life was terrible when the screen was on and it drained like crazy in standby. I'd lose 80% of my battery from only 2 or 3 hours of use on a day. It NEVER worked right with the Bluetooth in my car to the point where I wanted to throw it down the highway. Since I had only had the 1+1 and the N6 since buying my car, I thought there was something wrong with my car's Bluetooth. Wifi would randomly drop when my MacBook and my wife's S6 were still connected. Worst of all, the camera was also terrible. I'd have to play with it and take 4 or 5 pictures to get one decent one. This was the final straw as I missed many one of one moments of my kid due to poor pictures.

I could have just chalked it up to a few bad phones but I wasn't willing to invest in another flagship to be disappointed again. Some of the big hitters like Samsung look good on the outside but they heavily modify Android and strip core features out. Plus the wait for the updates is not wavy. In addition, they will strategically drop support for phones and leave you stranded.

I found it ridiculous that I had to sacrifice battery life and camera quality in the Nexus line for pure Android updates so I dipped.

The camera + Bluetooth + battery on the 6S+ are amazing. I'm not a heavy downloader so I don't really miss the convenience of that compared to all of the other issues I was having. Hated I didn't get a chance to use the new 6P, but I don't think I'll go back for a while.

I agree with most of the posts in here. I left iPhone when the iPhone 4s dropped. Been on android all the way up until I went back to theniphone with the iPhone 6 for the same reasons. I'm not going back....after all the years of tinkering around with android I've come to the conclusion that the iPhone just flat out does the essential everyday things better and more consistently. The updates, the accessories, and the quality of the hardware on top of that makes it even sweeter.

Maybe certain people just aren't bright enough to have these phones...who knows.

:dwillhuh:

Breh, you realize by definition that most people in GSDG are pretty fukking smart and tech savvy right? Otherwise, we wouldn't join an imaginary cell phone gang on a message board. :mjlol:

What you're seeing is a lot of people are being frustrated to the point that the cons of an Android phone outweigh the pros. And now the iPhones are good enough to satisfy folks who wouldn't have went that way before.

All this shade aint necessary breh. My phone is rooted, I know all about the dev communities. But this shyt STILL has problems. Meanwhile all my friends with iPhones who've been trollin me over the years have phones that work fine. Sometimes you just gotta know when to fold them.

I've considered it the 6s is like the perfect size.
Androids a mess right now.
I like that iPhones have little to no standby drain.
Don't neccesarily care for rooting etc, but obviously its nice to have just in case but not a deal breaker for me.

IOS & iPhone seem to get the job done.

But those prices though.

Theres a huge glaring compromises with pretty much all the androids this year. Samsung annoyed me witht the S6, it could've really been the best phone had they not fukked up the Battery life especially and Touchwiz's way of managing ram

So basically through all that clutter..you were just waiting for some reason to get an iphone. Period.

6P better be trill or I'm taking my talents to Cupertino and joining Apple.

I'm kind of stuck with droid though since I ported my number over to google voice a few years ago. Doubt that Google's implementation of it on ios is as good as it is on droid. :sadcam:

I've owned several Android phones for various reasons but have ALWAYS went back to iPhone. Currently I own a 6S Plus on T-Mobile and a Nexus 6 on Verizon. I haven't turned on that Nexus phone in 2 months. Apple runs a smoother OS with better camera technology and software, better Apps, better browser, better EVERYTHING

Yesterday I just had to go re-buy the same phone I already have b/c the last Android update basicaly ruined my phone. It was fast before that, I had few probs. After update, it's slow, battery is awful, laggy, my texts don't even go thru all the time. :what: I went and rebought the same (LG) phone just to get the old system back.

If I really used my phone heavy some like ppl, I would be on the iPhone 6s train. I've never owned an iPhone but lik u said, Android is falling off. Mainly b/c there's too many brands/types of phones and so they're updates are prone to break something on some of them.

Thought about buying it last night, but held off.

Android is becoming a buffet/one size fits all quality of an OS. :snoop:
My boy missed out on a TV hookup cause of that. Sent him a text on a Thursday for a Friday hookup on some tvs. He didn't get the text until the following Wednesday. I think it's the Note that he has but it isn't the newest one
