Is there a way to be a part of hiphop culture without being involved with the streets?

You're right. I mean for instance moving through LA alone as it is dangerous as hell but to have to pay all that personal security money to keep the gangs away would be very costly. Better you just pay them a fee or hire them I guess. Either that or make connections with people tied into that because they will try to get to you.

Then you mentioned not having ties into the music industry or working with people with ties and at that point its damn near impossible I would think to blow up without that. I mean the way shyt is set up you would have to work twice as hard and even if you did gain some success they will try to make you offers. If you refuse those offers they will do a lot of snake shyt and try to get you black balled making it harder for you.

I know, Sylvia Robinson, rappers delight was put out by her right. Didn't she take the artist money in bad business deals?

Im saying it should be fair so everyone could eat. It would be much better that way but those getting the lions share wouldn't want to split it which is why it's not fair in the first place. I was just speaking hypothetically.

I was just extrapolating first hand knowledge of what I know about doing business in dangerous parts of the world, but I guess the one key difference is that getting black balled in the textile industry in India or oil in south America is that its easy to just do business in another layered shell company with a different representative on the ground. outside of the love for the music, fame, or puzzy, I have no idea why already successful businessmen get into music

Dang bro, you really know about this shyt heavy. I have to check out those book you mentioned.

I mean damn, the president and drug trafficking. That shyt runs deep.

It really is Deeper than Rap :francis:

And the irony of the whole affair is that the parent company of MCA ..which is Universal Pictures released the epic controversial SCARFACE film much to the bewilderment of the media and Thier right wing Republican stockholders.....

But the bosses knew what was best :win:

Well you said it, love for music, fame, p*ssy and the opportunity for those dealing in corruption to clean their money :patrice:only things that make sense imo.

@The HONORABLE SKJ cyhi is speaking more about his situation if you care to hear about it

:ohhh: i think i know who is crew is......now that he namedropped D-MAC and he was signed to Akon's Konvict music now it all makes sense .....he was rolling with those Mansfield Crips that Loon and Dolla (RIP) ran with...

they (crips) use to be all up in Pleasers the old strip club at Cleaveland avenue i use to hang out in ..they would be all "blue'd" up with Javaris Crittenton the NBA player that's doing time for murder right now after they got into with them Bloods from R.O.C (thugga's crew)

it all makes sense when he said this verse on "Take You Back"

My teachers never took me on the field trip
I'm still salty 'bout that shyt
Pickle Dill chips
I wasn't present cause I had a real gift
And if I did the school play, you know I was Will Smith
Pro-Keds with the teal tip
And the prom queen, cause I know she will skip
I was a young teen raised by a real crip

Dang that's crazy how you put that all together like that. That's unbelievable bro and sounds like it's straight out of sol"me movie but it's not and this is real life. Which makes me wonder if he is supposed to be saying all that in an interview. I mean in a way he is saying how they was extorting their way into his deals and wanting a cut.

Also about Thugga he used to really put in work with them you think or nah? I heard people say how although Young Thug wore a dress and all that funnyness, he is certified but I couldn't believe it until that beef he got into with Game that got squashed.

Well obviously. Look at Logic, Macklemore, and G-Eazy. They practically can navigate around the black listeners while still being successful.
They dealing with major corporations who might not have their hands clean as well.

Logic is signed to Universal which has it's history as Universal / MCA which has always been a Mobsters Paradise for such familes as the Columbo family of NYC

Macklemore is signed to Warner Bros which was started by Bootlegging jewish gangsters

G Eazy is signed to RCA which was caught up in the Gambino family's Payola scandal involving Mobster and Kardashian family friend Joe Isgro aka Uncle Joe to Kim kardashian..

@Playaz Eyez ^There you have it :yeshrug:

What you think about that?

Sounds like what I originally said :manny: neither one have to really deal with black rap fans at all and are still very successful. I think Logic's album had almost 200k pure sales, yet I've never heard a Logic single on the radio nor in any public setting in my life:pachaha:those artists can completely bypass black rap listeners on their way to success

Not true.....

Michael Jackson rolled with Frank Dileo to get Michael Franceze off his azz

Teddy Pendergrass and Patti Labelle were being held down by Philly Black Mafia

Anita Baker solo debut was bankrolled by Freeway Ricky Ross

New Edition and Bobby Brown were first protected by Suge whom was working for Al Haymon during the 80s on the tour circuit

Fats Waller had performed for Al Capone after being held at gunpoint

Even Tyler Perry is being exposed by an ATL gangsta whom bankrolled him

The list goes on and on.....in fact their probably was more R&B and Blues and Jazz cats whom were affiliated with gangstas than rappers.....

Because r&b reached its heights during the age when the mafia had I restricted POWER
