Exactly. Born in 1984. I was 17 and a senior in high school on 9/11.
The 90s babies grew up in front of the internet and with TV. During the Bush Jr years...arguably the worst time in recent American history.
The fact that two 19 year old girls actually dressed up as the burning World Trade Center on halloween shows how disconnected from reality that generation is.
I'm not even saying this to be an ageist because my generation (the "hipster" generation) has equally demeaning qualities...but after I saw that picture I literally wanted to smack those girls. Conspiracy theories and nearsay aside, I had family who nearly died in that shyt. I can't ever forget about it and never will. "never forget? how many of us CAN"T forget it or would LIKE to? That generation was too young to remember it and the next generation will never know about it.
I genuinely feel bad for that generation. Because if they can't handle words on a computer screen they won't even be able to grasp the reality of when something worse than 9/11 inevitably happens.

Let me just say I was born in 1988 before nikkas try say I'm a 'gramps' 
However I was raised by a strong alpha male who aimed to raise his sons to be the same and I can tell you @Uncle Kingpin and @Steve Piffler are telling no lies with the fact that the alpha male that men were supposed to be according to evolution is dying out to be replaced by the 'man child' little boys in grown men's body with no ability to handle the real world.
This is something no-one really wants to talk about, its an uncomfortable topic most people avoid. Compared to every other generation we now have the highest amount of young men being raised by women, alone. No father figure or anyone to guide them into manhood as previous generations enjoyed and it shows, it's not a coincidence that we have all these perpetual man children hanging by their mama's apron strings, weak and unable to handle the real world and we have a high number of boys being raised without fathers. This is the real fatherless generation, a lot of the dudes I know don't know how to do DIY around their house, fix things, fix their cars nothing.
nikka's have no trade skills and won't even attempt to renovate their crib or do handy work. Why ? Because no-one taught them that. These women raising sons alone have fukked up a whole generation of men, the 'mummys' boys who grew up around their mama's aunties and sisters, THIS is one of the MAIN reasons why men of today are softer than any other generation. While a dad might get irritated that his son his up under his roof, women are attached and want their kids to be as attached to them as long as possible which makes way for this new culture where people simply aren't growing up.
Fatherless generation who have no idea or even awareness of how to become a MAN because they were raised by WOMEN with NO real life positive images of MEN. The days of a dad and son working around the house and handling business is over, now you have all these mums who hug their 'big daddys' and 'baby boys' and get canoodled and never have the umbilical cord cut. THIS is the BIGGEST BIGGEST problem. Especially in black community.
Absolutely correct, the baby boomers were the single most damaging generation of all, reckless, irresponsible and down right stupid. They enjoyed the best wage to standard of living ratio, in the 80's brownstones in Brooklyn were $16,000!!!!, best house prices, credit opportunities, best career opportunities also, today kids have to go to university, intern, work hard. In the 80's there were wall street bankers who did't even go to university, there were self certified mortgages were you could borrow anything you wanted. They honestly had the best of the best in everything but they managed to fukk it up.
They also instilled terrible moral into children, the baby boomers are a direct reason for the 'instant gratification' generation, due to their reckless way of life they passed on a more magnified version of that to their children. Although you have to encourage your kids baby boomers told their kids 'you are amazing!!! you deserve fame and money!!!' without actually telling these kids they had to actually work for it.
So they created a world of young people in constant need of gratification, attention and reassurance, lazy kids who don't want to work for anything and like a microwave expect their fame, fortune and money to *ping* and be delivered with no work.
They ruined a lot for the younger generations today and our financial hurdles today are a direct result of the sheer level of irresponsibility of them in everything they did, their money management, parenting skills, everything.
This isn't about making kids homeless, the baby boomers got it wrong, you aren't supposed to baby children in their 30's living at home follow evolution, you reproduce and keep your family line going, your children SHOULD go out their and make their own life, the baby boomers and in their 60's housing and feeding kids in their 30's. This is not how life is supposed to be.
I'm pretty sure you don't hope to have kids in their late 20's and 30's in your house, although you have to be a parent forever there should actually be a limit as to how long you have a child in your house. Again, 20 years ago the notion of someone leaving home to make their own life was not crazy yet how people shame parents for wanting kids out.
I left my home at 18, I have never been back, I own my own home and will be marrying a woman and creating my family. This is how life is SUPPOSED to be, you are SUPPOSED to leave home and make your own and create your own family.

If my dad let me just live at home I wouldn't have accomplished anything, part of becoming an adult is independence, people need that.

it's the parents fault. first off, there are more single mothers than 2 parent households (i won't go too far into that for obvious reasons. i have lil cousins WELL into their 20s and still living with their parents. its sad. kick their grown asses out of the house and FORCE them to get something for themselves. being 26 and working at Becks Prime and driving a challenger while living with your moms is NOT the move. and when they do move out, they are getting a place with a chick and knocking her up and not want to build a life with her. then they cry about child support. i can go on forever, but i'll stop here. there are COUNTLESS men out here doing the same thing.

If you left home at 18 for college, then thats not the same as a 18 yr old kid who's simply working and moved out on his own with his own money.
