Does your future husband make over 50k? Didnt you say you wouldnt date someone who didnt make at least 100k?

When he finishes residency, he will make well over that. When I graduate with my PhD, I will likely make 75-100K depending on whether I get a job at a private versus public institution.

Also, I never said that. I've dated plenty of non-six figure guys (a teacher, a professor, fellow students) but they were still educated (which is a major preference).

I've said I'm not willing to date a broke guy, but I don't remember citing an actual figure since six-figures isn't the minimum standard (you can have a good salary that isn't 100,000). I've likely also stated that I have had access to plenty of men who make or will make six-figures, but you I've never said that it was a minimum requirement (not being broke is a minimum requirement though...not broke =/= six figures). Second, "if I was counting the money that I haven't made yet" then I was probably referencing the fact that I am with someone who will, without a shady of a doubt, make at least that much within the next year. I've been with the same person the entire time I've been on the coli so that is the only think you could be referencing.

I make 56k a year and I have a roommate.

Nikkas really underestimate student loans, and cost of living expenses.

I'm glad I was able to graduate college without loans, about to start grad school my job will be paying for that

This is really a dumb thread when you realize the majority of Americans DON'T make more than 50,000 a year.

Especially black folks.

Exactly.. Motherfukkers don't think

Plus nikkas sitting up here thinking every position in every company is paying $50000 flat to everyone...

Today u see ton of companies cutting those $50000 jobs one person has and having 2 employees who combined to make $50000

People now are just making major cuts to their expenses to survive

if so do you feel like a loser?
How do you go on vacations and buy things you like while saving money?
Do making around you peers make you feel invaluable?

I'd figure it is dependent on the cost of living where you're at. I'd rather make 50 in Houston than 100 in Manhattan.

50k, single,kid-less in a city like Houston you're good.
