When I was 21 I made a deal with myself to be at 100K by 25. Barely missed but hit it shortly after I turned 26. By 30 the goal is successful entrepreneurship and see where that takes me. Can't relate to you broke boys

$50k isn't bad at all, especially if you're single with no kids. You definitely want to live some where cheap though.

That doesn't include Health Insurance or 401k. So you probably taking home $3300. Say all your bills together are about $2500
-$900 rent
-$150 utilities
-$500 groceries
-$600 car/insurance
-$400 Internet/Cable/Smart phone

You left with $750 a month. Of course these are estimates and extravagant. Some of those you can cut down.

My last position I made 42K but I was 25-27 still at home paying no rent while my parents paid some of my sisters tuition and paid all of my college tuition for both bachelors and masters degree.

My sister did her masters at Columbia University



So despite that low salary I didn’t feel like a bum and was still doing the things that I love.

My goal is to hit six figures by the time I’m 31 which is 2-3 years from now.

Should be pretty easy living in NYC and I’ll make sure I live in SouthEast Queens where rent for one bedroom is not 3K a month

I make damn near 100K and I've overdrafted on my last six paychecks. Ain't about how much you make but how much you spend. I got friends who make a third of what I make that can do more than me any given day of the week.

Exactly and there is always a bigger fish out there. Where you or someone may be bragging about their salary there is another person out there whose salary is bigger than yours.

Plus money means nothing if you got poor health. There is a kat out here with millions of dollars and sick as hell that would trade their life with a person who is healthy and making 20k a year.

1800 a week. Over 90k a year. The way my job is set up is we top out after three years. Next year will be over 2000 a week and the year after over 2200 with annual cost of living raises after that.
