Why? That b*stard been a fraud.
Inherited one of the greatest back 4 in a generation and had arguably the best midfielder and two forwards of the last 20 years.

He inherited Vieira? Not like he built the Invincibles defense.

Got into football because of Arsene’s Arsenal. Could never really hate him for long.

Brought in arguably the best DM of that era(Gilberto Silva)

Should have went 5 seasons ago.........but I salute him for his football philosophy, ability to help develop high caliber footballers and his refusal to get drawn into overpaying for players, too bad though because teams who came up after have eclipsed Arsenal's efforts, based on the fact they weren't shook to drop massive sums on players.

Sure they've had an oligarch here and a sheik there, but Arsenal's continental equivalents ie Barcelona and Ajax weren't afraid to do the same in the past or present, (in Ajax's case way back in the past) they've always developed talent and then went out and acquired the missing pieces if necessary.

All the blame can't be laid at his feet though one and a half things in his defense:

1 a - He's been saddled with a board that have handcuffed him for years when it came to acquiring players, often you got the impression that when he said he wouldn't overpay; he was merely towing the company line.

1 b - The battle between Stan Kroenke and Alisher Usmanov and it's knock on effect with regards to transfers policies etc, too long to goo into.

Nah i call shyt on that.. Arsene has has good money to spend for the last decade, he chose not to spend it because he didnt want to get drawn into overpaying. . . Since they been complete ass cheeks over the last 3-4 seasons, he has given in and spent big money on shyt players. Even back in the day when he did drop big money, he didnt spend it well (Reyes, Arshavin, Jeffers even Welbeck)

I stated that, but arsenal somewhere along the line have become seen as a selling club, not a buying one like Man Utd :pacspit: or Chelsea :scusthov: facts remain that the development of ashburton grove was a hindrance among the other factors that I stated, look at the fukkery spuds and west ham have been invoved with due to stadium issues.

As far as Jeffers is concerned injury did him in he was never all that to begin with, welbeck was moved on by Van Gaal(overrated coach whos teams play functional yet ugly football and damn near ruined Barca) in favor for Van Persie who Van Gaal treated like shyt, both welbeck & Jeffers cost a combined £26 million and that's over two different eras in terms of spending, Arshavin £16 million wasn't trash either just played out of position for most of his tenure and you guessed it blighted by injuries, Reyes is an odd one as he can do the business problem is he just didn't travel well, Spanish players seldom do.

Since 2014 their final league positions have been, 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 5th last season being straight fukkery for the gunners, if he had followed other teams and overspent Arsenal could be looking like Leeds Utd or Aston Villa lets be real here.

Spurs have made a fairly seamless move to wembley though, started off bad but they've adapted. Arsenal been at emirates for 10+ years . . . West ham are complete morons so lets not even bother looking at them.

I hear you on the transfers, but "spanish players seldom do?" :wtb:

DDG, Silva, Costa, Mata, Cesc, Cazorla, Llorente, even the throwbacks - Torres, Arteta, Xabi Alonso, Garcia, raina, boltons old spanish boys

thats just off top.

There's pretty much no chance of Arsenal going the way of Leeds/Villa. Arsenal are cash rich.

Reyes, Dani, Luis Garcia, Antonio Nunez, Morientes, Xisco, Del Horno, De Lucas, Borja, Luque, Jesus Navas, Nolito, Negredo, Mendieta, Aspas, Marcelino that dude that had one good season at Swansea there's way more.

That's off top, and how are you throwing Llorente in there like he has epl defenses shook, he's the Spanish Martin Palermo:pachaha:

Arsenal cash rich sure......but what happened to the £100 million war chest, why does Wenger continue to say he can't compete financially with XYZ?

C'mon breh Arsenal is owned by two billionaires:beli: no manager would have lasted this long with nothing to show for it unless they were the ultimate company man.

You’re ignoring the fact that Arsenal brought in damn near £80m in the same time span so the net spend isn’t that much.

Arsenal really are not a buying team at all. We’ve got less depth and balance now than we did at the beginning of the season. This is the worst our squad has been in the last 2-3 years.

Mendietea and Garcia were shyt..... Mendieta pissed me off royally he was the man at Valencia, with Angloma, Kily Gonzalez, Farinos etc..........man touched down in foreign and was ass, the fact you haven't heard of the others is jokes to me.......shyt we can throw Manquillo, Reira, Josemi on that list

Like I said seldom.... they often start with a bang and go out with a whimper.

As for Llorente, empty numbers in a shyt team means nothing, he was decent at Bilbao a good throwback player but don't kid yourself.

As far as your last part of your post, poster above summed it up best:

As a lifelong Arsenal fan and a big supporter of the manager, it pains me to admit that Wenger’s time is up. That is apparent.

What I don’t condone is the abuse from fans/media and this “Wenger Out” nonsense. Any Arsenal fan that runs with that narrative is completely ignoring all that Wenger has done for the club over his 20 + year reign.

He is the most successful manager in club history. his ability to not only keep Arsenal afloat after the move to the Emirates, but keep us in the CL all Those years despite being forced to sell our top players is quite remarkable. He revolutionized the English game (opening the door for man like Pep to burst through), the Invincibles, FA Cup glory, one of the first to scout Africa and bring top talent to a big club with open arms. And the list goes on.

No, his list of accomplishments don’t feature 10 Premier League titles or a European trophy (always wished he was able to get one). Yes these last 2 seasons have been a huge disappointment, but people shouldn’t ignore the fact that Wenger is a huge driving force behind the global brand that is Arsenal today.

I wish he was able to go out on a high on his own terms, but that won’t happen. He loves the club and he is a competitor. But like they say, all good things must come to an end.
