He’s not. I find him to be extremely overrated honestly. Like a lot of players of the past so much of him gets glossed over.

Dame and Kyrie are absolute offensive superstars. I also prefer Dame and Kyrie over Russy.
He definitely is. Kyrie definitely not over Kidd and neither is Dame

My man it don’t matter you nobody can look at Russ accomplishments and leave him off the top 10 PG list like I said if dudes were ranked off winning then ok,majority of guys who make the HOF and get rated on this top 10 list have outstanding accolades and that’s what it’s mainly based off of! Russ in there my man

I just did :unimpressed:

Why is Bob Cousy getting mentioned? I don’t care about no stats; I don’t believe this dude is a factor. He can’t be top 10. I don’t honor it.

Lmao...

Bro Cousy was the first superstar backcourt player, first superstar point. You can't look at him in the lens of today's game, it's a much different game and players are built differently...

Cousy was the first guy to put English on his handles and passing, he was a showman and the way we talk about Kyrie's today, is how people viewed Cousy then. Except he was an actual league MVP. The Celtics were listless before Cousy showed up...

He was also an outstanding defender....

To be fair, Cousy aint a Top 5 point anymore either, too many guys have passed him up since he retired, but he is still well deserving of Top 10 consideration. Cats completely exclude him off their Top 10s and it doesn't make sense, if its a skill competition he's one of the better distributors and defenders, and if it's a "put in work" competition, his accolades speaks for itself, there isn't a ton of point guards who win MVPs...

What's the criteria? Are we trying to win a playoff game or a title? Then I'm taking Magic, Steph, Isiah, CP3, Nash, Kidd, Oscar, West, Stockton, Frazier, Parker, Dame, Penny, and Payton before I'm taking Russ.

You missed Walt Frazier and Jerry West. Bob Cousy too if you want to include him, he was league MVP the same year they won their first title. And of course Billups and Tony Parker have FMVP even if they were more part of ensemble casts.

"Rings" are always a dumb criteria out of context. But in terms of playoff success, Russ is waaaay behind a lot of guys on that list. Besides Magic/Steph/Isiah/Frazier/West/Cousy/Billups/Parker, you also have Payton and Kidd who took their teams to Finals as the clear team leader, Nash, Rose, and Dame who took their teams to WCF. CP3 and even Oscar Robertson have won more series and frankly looked and played better as a #1 than Russ has too.
Russy’s playoff career without Durant this is how I see it...

In 2017, OKC had no business being in the playoffs and it was one of the greatest displays of floor raising in NBA history. I don’t penalize him there because he shouldn’t have even been there.

In 2018, they lost to the Jazz in an even match up. Russy did go ape shyt in the final two games and it was PG-13 who really underperformed closing that series though.

In 2019, Dame sonned him badly. :picard:

In 2020, Russ had the quad injury and COVID and by this point he’s clearly past his prime.

Nah, he looked like he was past his prime in '19 but his performance in '20 was a turn back the clock level of play. That was only a year ago, so I wouldn't say he's past his prime yet, he's probably at the tail end of it though. You don't play how he did last year and be "past your prime"...

Why? The nikka was inefficient as fukk, trash in the halfcourt, his career highlights is making those Finals but those were fringe 50 win teams it was the worst conference in NBA history at that point they didn’t even stand a chance in the Finals. Outside of that not much to speak on.

Those Nets teams with VC and RJ really underachieved, I remember when he was in the news for beating his wife simultaneously as that, him leaving the Nets. Dark moment in his career all this is glossed over.

Dame and Kyrie are just on other levels as offensive players.

Fam that’s easily top 10 PG of all time,a ring would put him in the top 5,
He got those accolades at the expense of the ring though.

Nah, I think he’s firmly past his prime.

In fact both this year and last year he was trash for about 70% of the seasons. In both years he had monstrous ramp ups to end the year. He can get his numbers but he’s really inefficient now.

First off:

Jason Kidd:
NBA Champ
10x Allstar
5x First team all NBA
1x Second team all NBA
4x first team all defense
5x second team all defense
5x assist leader
ROY

Lillard:
6x Allstar
1x First team all NBA
3x Second team all NBA
1x Third team all NBA
ROY

Irving:
NBA champ
7x Allstar
1x Second team all NBA
1x Third team all NBA
ROY

:russ::mjlol: You not serious man them nikkas don’t hold a candle to Kidd career wise.

Kidd led his team them Nets to the FINALS TWICE my man Kyrie had a chance in Boston with a helluva team and BLEW it and ran to Brooklyn to be a #3 option :mjlol:

Dame has gotten Portland to the WCF I’ll give him credit but neither one of these guys is better than Kidd stop!
