Very true to some degree. That's capitalism for you. MLK, Mandela & Malcolm X where all called revolutionists but none of them denounced capitalism. They just wanted to be able to have the plates that their people deserved. Mandela wanted black people to actually profit from the diamonds in SA rather than just do all the dirty work.i know what i quoted.
whether it's all falls down Ye or new slaves Ye' it's still ass backwards. Why? His quest to "own" the plantation because being an overseer making the other slaves follow along isn't fun to him anymore is still bullshyt. Because to own a Nike or to own any major profitable corporation means to employ slave labor. Period. Ask Apple how their profit margin is so insanely high.....Foxconn. Where are your sneakers made and by whom and for how much? Same thing goes with diamonds and all luxury goods. To own any plant/plantation that has global influence that Kanye so desperately desires means another group of people must lose....and lose hard. There is no debating that. The new slaves want newer slaves and want you to praise them as revolutionaries. GTFO.
Same could be said of Michael Jackson and music in the early 80's. Heron had already been in the black community, crack was about to come, just 20 odd years since nikkas could even vote. A black dude being on MTV... who gives a fukk right? He wants to be like Pac but it's not him and he's complaining about the wrong things.
Fashion discrimination(not even racial in his case) is like the least important discrimination issue, specially when it's about behind the scene shyt.
Kanye said it was class racism, not racial which is why it's unimportant. They are not giving many people any free spots. Kanye is good at what he does but maybe he's not always what they want. Maybe he isn't very dynamic and on.Same could be said of Michael Jackson and music in the early 80's. "The least important discrimination issue" isn't a valid statement. Wherever there's discrimination there's untapped potential. Imagine if nikkas ran the high-end fashion world the way we did the Billboard 100 in '04?
The "fashion industry aint important" is a BS angle.

So while Kanye may not be a revolutionist. His angle of revolution is pretty revolutionist. Revolution is destroying the social order which is what Kanye wants to do. Not saying he's a revolutionist, I don't know his true intentions.
let's not bash capitalism too hard. humans are savage heathens by nature. at least it puts a veneer on that.

Evertything you've said could apply to MJ and music in 80's.Kanye getting a permanent slot at Paris fashion week isn't putting a dent in anyone's social order. We might get a few more black models on the runway....but for every new Naomi, we'll have to hear 10 more rants about something else he isn't satisfied with. If anything his desires will just make him another novelty/ token black guy who manged to slip through the cracks and kick down a superficial door. I have nothing agaist high fashion and have some items of my own....but what exactly would a high end Kanye fashion line do for the elevation of social order? If anything it will perpetuate the current system even more. Kanye is so head strong right now, if he is granted his wish, his ego will supersede the real groundwork that must be laid for lasting change.
I'm not making this an issue of capitalism. We are all capitalist. This is about the pseudo revolutionist image that he's been putting on lately.

Watching the interviews the thing that seemed to stress Kanye out the most was the fact he struggles to form a proper argument and concisely summarise his goal of ownership. He's spouting a bunch of nonsense and quasi profound statements that cloud the jewels he's trying to drop.
