everything has its perks. but the pros have to be weighed against the cons. every time kanye talks about "we don't have the power," its because our resources and our people have been exploited for generations.

what kanye wants to do is engage in some kind of racial/ethnic billionaire arms race. if there are 600 white billionaire, kanye wants 600 black billionaires. And he thinks that somehow makes the system better for us. But the system is the same. You're still a slave, just to 600 black billionaires. 3rd world countries will still have their resources pillaged, just by 600 black billionaires. Kids will still buy kanye items for hundreds and thousands of dollars, but the money will go to 600 black billionaires.

You'll still get the scraps. There will still be classism. But at least the face of the oppressor looks like ours

He's not really speaking to poverty or inequality. His whole argument boils down to, "real change is only possible if you're a billionaire." And thats laughable.

They just wanted to be able to have the plates that their people deserved. Mandela wanted black people to actually profit from the diamonds in SA rather than just do all the dirty work.

So while Kanye may not be a revolutionist. His angle of revolution is pretty revolutionist. Revolution is destroying the social order which is what Kanye wants to do. Not saying he's a revolutionist, I don't know his true intentions.

Kanye said it was class racism, not racial which is why it's unimportant. They are not giving many people any free spots. Kanye is good at what he does but maybe he's not always what they want. Maybe he isn't very dynamic and on.

I have nothing agaist high fashion and have some items of my own....but what exactly would a high end Kanye fashion line do for the elevation of social order? If anything it will perpetuate the current system even more. Kanye is so head strong right now, if he is granted his wish, his ego will supersede the real groundwork that must be laid for lasting change.
