The author is projecting Smart to make the same leap statistically as Jimmy did in his 4th season. Had no idea that Smart's and Butler's rookie year PER 36 minute stats were so similar.

Bradley and Olynyk are the only two leaving that'll matter

Hayward is an upgrade over Bradley, and Morris and Olynyk are probably a wash if not an upgrade too

If Brown sticks to what he was asked to do last year - hit spot up 3s and slash to the basket hell be good. But if he tries to do what he tried to do in summer league, create for his team off the dribble, he's gonna be bushes.

He'll essentially take over Bradley's role.

He will get there eventually. He won't need to as a starter so they can conveniently bring him along slowly.
