Isiah Thomas put up a 25 point, 24 assist triple double against the Bullets during 1984 season. 6 days later he'd have another 23 point 25 assist game against the Mavericks, coming off a back-to-back.

NOBODY was doing that. That was Daly’s first year.

Zeke was outright dominant but changed when Daly reshaped the team. He easily would have put up MVP numbers but changed his game for the team
What part of his attempts per game didn’t drastically change during the finals years don’t you understand.

I get this narrative but it’s not based in much reality

You need a complete team to win

The rockets & suns were the best teams he ever played for

Suns went to the finals

Rockets the biggest challenge the warriors faced but cp3 got injured in game 5

The ‘87 Celtics were the weakest c’s team of the 80’s. If zeke didn’t choke the Pistons would have made the ‘87 finals they were up in game 5 with game 6 at home before zeke blew it. Boston never advanced past the 2nd round after 1987 pistons beat a declining Celtics team ,an injured lakers team (magic and scott were out for ‘89 finals) and a young bulls team who went 5,6,7 game’s consecutive years then swept the pistons when they were ready
Hyping up beating the 1988 Celtics or the 1989 Lakers went Magic missed the series is crazy to me.

Even if Magic was healthy, that was not the peak Lakers teams.

The peak bad boy pistons don’t hold a candle to the actual best teams of the 1980’s like The 83 Sixers, 85/87 Lakers and the 86 Celtics.

If we wanna keep it all the way real, those teams were transitional champions. They kept the belt hot during the window of the bulls not being ready, the fall of the lakers dynasty, and the Celtics getting old/injrured.

The minute another Dominant team emerged in the bulls they got sent packing and that was the end of their chapter. They didn’t even get old, they just couldn’t compete

He at one time was taking 19 shots per game early in his career while shooting 47%. This was an era where a PG shooting at 42% was exceptional. He curtailed his shot attempts as the Pistons became more successful.

Not sure why you are arguing when Chuck Daly said Zeke sacrificed his scoring for the good of the Pistons. Argue with Chuck

I’ll argue with the fact that his last first team all nba season he averaged 16 shots per game and in the 1989 and 1990 championship seasons he averaged 15 and 16 shots per game.

Also Zeke sucked against the bulls in 89 and 90. I don’t know why he and fans hypes up this idea that “he” took them down.

He was also dog shyt the year they got swept out and sent to irrelevance. So no different it’s just his teammates couldn’t carry him anymore

This Isiah Thomas mythology is getting torn to shreds today.

You want me to hype a guy for shooting less than 40 percent from the field :mjlol:

It wouldn’t be as bad if he didn’t stick his chest out and talmbout what he did versus the bulls

Everybody and the mother is who?

I don’t know the last time Isiah was seen as number 2 or ahead of curry on any GOAT pg list, and if someone had the opposite I would know to not take their opinion on ball serious.

I couldve sworn Boston made it to the ECF in 88, where the Pistons finally beat them

Waking up to this zeke slander is absolutely appalling! MVP balloting is and always been a narrative driven exercise. Zeke was always a polarizing figure back in the day and didn’t shuffle and grin. Top 3 PG all time. The premise behind this thread is scandalous.

Dudes acting like being a facilitator, controlling the pace of the game and then taking over when necessary is a negative trait now :mjlol:

Like the Pistons had a snowballs chance in hell defeating MJ, Magic or Bird without him :mjlol:

You ain't defeating or being remotely competitive with those guys without being an all-time great

Pistons was Wizards status before he walked in the door :mjlol:

Big upping Paul who got locked up by a very flawed Bucks team while slandering Zeke :mjlol:

Still dancing around Paul blowing a 3-1 lead and 2-0 finals lead :mjlol:
