IMMIGRANT TETHERS
I respect your opinion but why? Isn't everything I said right? Don't white people love the "safe" rappers over the dangerous ones? Isn't k dot "safe" looking compared to other rappers who whites would be afraid of?

Example: Why did jay-z take off and not dmx? They both came out at the same time and had great albums. X never had the popularity of jay simply because a goofy camel face looking guy is non-threatening, a jacked barking crazy black guy is scary.

Don't white people accept those they can identify with more? There are countless other examples especially the king cac: eminem.

good lord:wow:

this is your second post and you're already horrible posting.:laff:

Over 20 million sold in the Us. 30 million worldwide. Two platinum albums in the same year. First five albums debuted at number one. Multiple movies deals as the leading role. But he's not successful? White people didn't support him. You're just saying shyt. Sit down:shaq2:

You're p*ssyfooting around my question. I asked if X is more successful than jay. Did I ask for random statistics that aren't even true? No. For everything you mentioned musically, jay has outdone X 10-fold. Multiple movie deals with leading roles? Belly, which was never mass-consumed (and never intended for that) and Exit Wounds, a utter and complete flop? Not to mention every movie of his is catered to a black audience and not supported by white people.

So how am I wrong? Isn't jay, the "safer" black man more successful than x, the "threatening" black man?

Ah yes, another "Rappers are only successful because of Crackah A$$ Crackahs" thread.

Do you have any stats to support what you're saying? That Kendrick only has white fans, or they're in the majority?

Kendrick has a mixed audience. I'm a fan of his, and I'm black.

Dude, DMX was a drug addicts and has gone to prison several times. Jay on the other has managed to keep himself out of jail, and focus on being a better businessman.

^^Do you have any stats to prove me wrong?

I may not have stats but i have experience. Growing up in a predominantly black neighborhood and high school, no one ever bought albums or went to the theater to see movies. They copped the bootlegs more than 90% of the time. When I went to a predominantly white university, everyone was buying albums to support their favorite artist like Creed or Godsmack and planning trips to the movies. The difference: in high school I was surrounded by blacks and in college I was surrounded by whites.

:wtf:

You have got to be borderline retarded.

1. Jay is more successful then 90% of hip hop so using him as a measuring stick.:comeon:
2. When they were out and on point, DMX was actually more successful.
3. Nothing I said was false look it up dikk head.
4. DMX is more successful then A LOT of people in hip hop despite him sabotaging his own career
5.His albums have plaques in the great African nations of Canada and Britain :comeon:
6.He had multiple singles peak in Canada and Germany
7. He has been nominated for Grammys and other award shows
8. He had a main role in a movie that made 50 million:comeon:
9. Eat a dikk for making even respond to your dumbass:pacspit:

I did not say that...I was merely speaking from the perspective of a lot of white people, not all, a lot. I never said a strong black male needs to be threatening, quite oppositely, I pray all my fellow black males can rise above this negative false image with class and dignity. I simply said that is how whites view them. If anything, still in today's day and age "strong black male" is synonymous with threatening to a cac. Just like to a lot of people, a woman in a position of power must be abrasive and/or dyke-ish to be successful. These are wrong perceptions of specific social groups and I am only pointing them out. I wish these stereotypical views didn't exist. I want everyone to live in harmony.

you were obviously listing Kendrick's characteristics derisively: short, child, little, no qualities of strength. In opposition you had birdman. When you say someone is a "CAC's dream" you're posing it as a perspective that's appealing to whites because of something about it, some characteristics that don't have full appeal across sociocultural groupings. But Kendrick being a non-rapist should be a virtue to anyone. In fact as many point out the handrubbing/threatening rapper can be more minstrel-show like, a CAC's dream, than K Dot talking about Marcus Garvey

the only people to recommend kendrick to me have been white :manny:

he appeals to the "alternative" crowd in rap which can be black or white but is mostly white

Well it's a good thing that at least white people and folks that aren't into rap would get wind of Kendrick Lamar.

I would rather white people see Lamar rather than Gucci Mane or 2Chainz when they think of rap.
