MANY use it and its cheap as fukk overall to put that feature in. This is simply a cash grab to jump from 32GB to 64 or even 128GB in Apple's case. You are simply blind if you don't see it. HTC tried it with the HTC One line and got a rude awakening. Samsung is just doing this because of their dominant position in the android space at the moment.
shyt is really inexcusable that people accept planned obsolescence or companies making shyt difficult for no reason.
There's a reason Samsung dominated Android. Samsung is a smart company. They will shamelessly steal any idea that's good especially from Apple. Samsung will ridicule Apple for something in a commercial one year and the next integrate that same idea into their phones with no apologies. Samsung basically has the Apple design philosophy of the Android partners, hell they even lock their phones down with Knox. If you want an Apple iOS like experience on Android Samsung and the Galaxy series is the go to company.
My first 3 Android phones were the HTC EVO, HTC EVO 3D, and HTC EVO LTE. After experimenting with an iPhone 5 for a bit I got a Galaxy S5 and from that point on I'm not really messing with anybody but Samsung in the Android space. I don't necessarily dislike iOS like many Android elitist. I still have my iPhone 6 and if I don't sell it I'll probably randomly switch back and forth between it and the Galaxy S6 depending on my mood.
I guess my point is what you're criticizing Samsung for is the very reason they dominate Android and HTC is looking like they're gonna fall. Once HTC folds and they probably will who is gonna challenge Samsung? LG? Nah. Motorola? Nope. Samsung will basically rule Android next to Google.
They stole me from HTC with their shameless jacking of other companies. I mean what is Samsung Pay coming next month if not a shameless jack of Apple Pay using the same mechanic they stole from Apple with the fingerprint scanner.
