Yeah Dead Prez has a huge white following or they used to have one(not sure anymore). But they came out in the late 90s. I guess white folks will gravitate to one militant group per era.

It was timing...he always had white fans. When he ventured into movies, he had a built-in fan base. I think Friday showed people and his-self, he had a comedic side and quasi-softened his image and made him marketable.

I remember USA used to play that movie weekly, religiously like the 700 club. He got more into writing and producing movies and saw the money that could be made. By the time Barbershop came out, his transition was complete.
