Poole wasn't drafted 2nd overall, and thought to be a franchise centerpiece. There were many different options the Warriors could've taken with that #2 pick that would've been better than drafting Wiseman. Every single one of them would've been better. That is not the same logic as the value and options that come with the #28th pick, which Poole was taken with.
And like I said before, Poole is the exception and not the rule. Typically players drafted that late don't become that good. See: Jordan Bell, Patrick McCaw, Nico Mannion, Alen Smailagić, Eric Paschall, Jacob Evans, Damian Jones, Kevin Looney, and Festus Ezeli.
