:deadmanny: i dont know where to start from...
:yeshrug: Name me a time period rappers had classics, bangers , anthems , mixtapes , and radio play and collabed with each other to make more classics and banger while owning labels and pushing artists with bangers too. Internet mixtape era is the new golden era of rap. U can move the time frame aria bit but the point is the same . When those guys were at the top of the game it was just better

What messed up TI's legacy is beging on fire and then going to prison right after dropping a weak album (TI vs TIP). He started feeling himself too much and dropped a dud.

Paper Trail had mainstream hits but him trying to appear to be reformed & make pop songs like Whatever You Like went against his whole trap image.

He gets out of prison and becomes a reality show family man but tries to make hard trap music and it just doesn't resonate.

You got a whole generation that sees him as Major's dad and outside of All About The Money it's been over 10 years since he's had a real bonafide lasting hit.

He's in Lil Wayne territory where he's been bad (impact wise) longer than he was good. For example Dime Trap may not have been a bad album but it came and went. His concert set 99% consists of 10+ year old songs even though he's dropped 7 projects since 2008.

He's a legend but his last 10 years have been forgettable.

Nah bro I was a TI fan back in the day
Everyone agrees KING was legit
But TI vs TIP was HORRIBLE especially how he went on BET and would argue with himself dude is kinda lame too

Kinda?

Dude went at another rapper off of alleged gossip of some women after said rapper even gave him props in a freestyle on national tv

Then did an infomercial for the police, asking people to snitch.

He's Rick Ross status to me

Ti has hits....hard to call him a legend tho

He's a legend, but there's degrees of greatness. It can be argued he isn't Top 40. But his impact in his era and his influence on Atlanta and southern hip hop makes him a legend...

Man yall not about to do this with TI, hell no. Aint no revisionist history about to happen here.

That damn album run he had from Trap Muzik to Paper Trail (Ti vs TIP not withstanding) was prolly the best run from a southern artist ever. He was dropping HEAT.

I'm with you on your first paragraph...

Your second paragraph is revisionist though. Both Wayne and Ross had greater runs, higher peaks, more legendary work. I'm a Tip fan, but compared to those two? Tip ain't close...

Never understood how dudes could be fans of Ross and he's basically lying in every rhyme

Easy, most these nikkas out right lying or exaggerating and putting on extras...

I can acknowledge when I think somebody is fronting, but I listen for the quality. Ross' music is legendary and I can make an argument he in the Top 25 All-Time, easy...

In regards to his background, the biggest lie was that he didn't grow up dealing, and he wasn't a Booby Boy, and he denied being a CO. But there's a manner in which Ross raps about large scale trafficking that anybody can't do. Its believable to me that he got into dealing as a grown ass man. He likely exaggerated the money he made, but there's a resonance in it, I can't really describe, if you've had a hand in major trafficking. But he was a goofy for early in his career basically saying he was a pusher as a kid, that was disproven...

Ice Cube said years ago all rappers lie or exaggerate to some degree. It's an art. If we all keep that in mind it's easier to listen for the quality. It's still fun to call out and pick on nikkas you know be lying though lol...

king is a classic but that's about it.

King is mad overrated...

Trap Muzik to me is his only classic....hes a singles hitter.

Trap Muzik is my favorite album but it's short of an actual classic...
