It's official: Game of Thrones is the most hurtful entertainment experience I've ever had.

Same. I don’t care to ever re watch a episode or even really discuss the shows. I’m definitely boo of the prequel show. I’ll probably binge when the series ends on a bored weekend. But they lost me.

My expecations were being lowered since S5 to be honest, so it didn't disappoint as much. What was fukked was just how little s8 really offered,I think I liked the finale episode the most and even that was mostly a shyt show.

I remember when The Phantom Menace came out and to this day I look back at it like "damn the OG Jedi were dope, Qui-Gon and young Obi-Wan dope, Darth Maul DOPE, Podracing was piff and Duel of the Fates was a dream come true...too bad most of the other stuff was a bit boring :yeshrug:". I was never as bothered as some other fans, didn't know back then how b1tchmade the majority of SW fans are.

LOST is really the only other show that managed to drop the ball hard, but that was only in the last few episodes - GOT was just a gradual to a hard fall ever since S5.

How long has it been since the end of Season 8?

4-5 months?

I STILL cannot go into a GOT thread, Reddit post, series or episode breakdown, lore video and anything related to GOT...Season 8 was so uncaringly bad, it ruined the entire experience.

I was a guy who played the history of GOT all day while at work, listenes to podcasts, debated plots and theories on the Coli and with friends, and connected with like minded fans from older white women to dudes on the block debating if John Snow was the Prince that was promised...

All all that effort and fun was squashed because two directors got a bag to do a movie I don't think people really even care about in this era (I could be wrong.)

I almost feel like my girl cheated on me or something...because I have no desire not only to learn or read anything GOT related, but I'm wary of diving that deep into any media like that ever again, until it's over and done.

Y'all feel the same?

Man, you need to take a long look in the mirror.

It's a TV show.

Actually, YOU can chill.

We are in THE FILM ROOM on a MESSAGE BOARD bro lol.

I am talking about a great piece of media that a lot of us enjoyed thoroughly, perhaps more than anything else media-wise, that fell off simply because the writers didn't want to do it. And that sucks.

I did not say I am losing sleep or think about this all day, or most days at all for that matter. You are reading into this more than you should, just to be funny smh.

Obviously, I'm expressing how when GOT suggestions come up on my Youtube, I have no desire to see them. I have not watched an old episode or a clip or discussed it with friends since it ended - no desire at all. Months ago, you could talk to random people in the street and enjoy a GOT mini-debate, no it's like it never existed, to me as well.

That's all. Some film fans are disappointed in some film. Sue me.

the difference is all these other shows that fell off just kept going till the wheels fell off

nobody wanted the show to end, the fans sure didnt. hbo didnt, the author of the books didnt

D&D just got tired of it and wanted to go make star wars movies and get richer. they could have handed over control to hbo or another show runner but they are selfish hacks

The audience reaction to it once the spoilers leaked and slowly started to proven to be true is one of the most :laff:things I've watched play out in realtime.

There was the initial people who believed and were :wtf:, and then they turned to the people who thought the shytty plot from the spoiler was all fake, like :mjlit:

Then there was the slow burn of realization, not only that the spoilers were true, but that Benioff and Weiss had shyt the bed in a manner so spectacular it was like a July 4th fireworks exhibition, but instead of fireworks, it was made entirely of shyt.

Human shyt, dog shyt, bullshyt, horseshyt, cat shyt, rat shyt, dragon shyt.

Just Shyt.

The thread on here was CLASSIC :russ:'Game Of Holmes: A Dream Of Flat Tops' alone made the disappointment worth it :deadmanny:

The progression was pretty much "Spoilers? :childplease::ld::ehh::lupe::ohhh::mjtf::sadcam::mjcry::sadbron::damn::pacspit:"

The icing on the cake was D&D bailing on Comic-Con at the last minute and leaving the actors to deal with fan fury:dead:

End of the day, it's just a TV show. We only have limited time on this planet. Find something else you enjoy and rock with that instead :manny:

S8 still had some great moments and eps. Yeah the finale was bad but people will get over it over time. Like we did with the seinfeld finale or last season of The wire

To be honest, season 7 already put me off:yeshrug: I'm not even mad at how the show ended, but with how they got there. They should have at least done ten full seasons to do the material justice. The funny thing is, that most shows end up being crap in the last couple of seasons, because they run out of story to tell. With GoT it was the opposite, the last two seasons are shyt, because they basically gave us the abridged version of events.

Yeah I feel the same way. I don’t even want to watch the earlier seasons ever again just because how badly they botched season 7 and especially season 8. It went from one of the greatest tv experiences to something that’s almost embarrassing to even say i liked as much as I did.

I read the books, went on the forums, re-watched the seasons multiple times and now I have to rely on lazy ass GRRM to give me an suitable ending, but I don’t have faith him finishing the books so we’re just left with one of the worst endings to a series I have ever seen.
