It's official: Game of Thrones is the most hurtful entertainment experience I've ever had.

It ain't that serious breh. Most shows dip in quality as the seasons go on.

Nah this was bigger than a dip in quality though. Season 8 really seemed like they could give a fukk less. They weren't even trying and it was a big fukk you to all the fans. I'm still :fire:

Bran the Broken has the most interesting story? GTFOH

Greyworm and the Dothraki letting John live for no reason.... it’s too much fukk shyt.

Alot of shyt could have easily been fixed with at least a couple more episodes

Yea - I think the biggest problem was the F YOU to fans that started bothering me more and more as the show had been over...

Because I am thinking - Greatest writing and story I personally had ever seen, to multiple episodes with Starbucks cups and messed up lighting. Like thats not even trying.

White Walkers & First Men def meant something, but they dismissed it. R+=J def meant something but they needed to brush it off.

I actually still stand by my controversial thought though:

I think the series ended the way it was meant to, by the T. Its just they packed it all into 6 episodes and filmed/wrote it badly, and made it shytTY & cringey. But the bullet points likely remain:
  • John was the Prince promised to kill the one who would destroy the world, who turned out to be Dany, not NK
  • Dany would go mad
  • Jaime would end up with Cersei somehow
  • Bran would become ruler, but not be Bran because he is not a person, but memories and Children of Forest are true leaders
  • Sam writes the history of the world
  • Magic runs out of the world (no dragons, WWs, etc.)
I mean that over the span of 2-3 seasons would've been so dope. But that sh*t was written like a comic book and dismissed.

Kind of glad I stopped watching around season 5 or 6. The book readers were insufferable in discussions especially outside of the coli. They'd been in discussion threads dry spoiling with "hints" and extremely accurate "theories"

But in their defense it was probably mostly trolls who looked up spoilers doing that shyt.:hubie:

But (and this can be me looking back on the show with whatever the opposite of rose tinted lenses would be) the parts of the show inbetween the twists and deaths seemed a bit dry even before the show allegedly fell off. So when i stopped participating in weekly discussions my I think my interest waned.

It never made sense for them to kill off the ProTag (Jon Snow) without completing his character arc or finding a suitable replacement/expy for him, so when they did and immediately brought him back next season it was a sign they were reaching for content and shock value. If death doesn't matter in a show were multiple people are killed regularly, it takes away from the impact. They wrote themselves into a corner there and found a cheap way out of it. When writers start doing that, the drop off in quality is beginning.

I doubt that there will be a tv show as big as Game of Thrones in our lifetime. Like op mentioned everyone from hood nikkas to suburban soccer moms were heavily invested into this show for damn near a decade. I expected the discussion around this show to last long after the final episode but it's kinda faded into oblivion. :ld:

Had there ever been a final season that was great?

Sopranos = trash
Wire = average
Breaking bad = average
Office = trash
Got = trash
