Yall put me on man, this shyt so fun :wow:.

Went to fundamental classes for 2 months and watched hella videos before going to advanced classes this week. This was my first week actually rolling and brehs this shyt so humbling. Im 26 getting did in by 15 year olds and shyt. It's all love tho everybody chill asl:obama:

in my first 2 rolling classes I managed to survive well and get 1 tap in each, one kimura from mount and guillotine from full guard. tho of course i was def getting tapped tf out myself lmfao.

The sensei is hilarious too, dude a beast and cool as fukk. He's Brazilian as hell too. He first came to the US in 2001 and didnt even know how to use a shower.

In this day and age I encourage black men to either get a firearm or learn a martial art or some shyt:yeshrug:. Can't be out here a walking stain

I recommend it to you guys looking for a nice physical hobby :whew:. Rolling got me sore asf

How’s the workout? See any changes physically? I want to join an all in one gym that has BJJ and boxing. I want to work on my stand up also.

This is a thread I have been waiting for from the Coli. I am a striker. Trained Boxing and Muay Thai growing up, but I want to make the transition to grappling before I get too old to take the damage that comes with this type of training.

I have been to introductory Japanese Jiu-jitsu classes, and I am going to attend a BJJ class soon.

I was also looking at Sambo and Krav Maga too.

What are your guys take on the Sambo and Krav Maga?

How are you guys even training with full contact in a pandemic :jbhmm:
If you had to choose between two gyms for a beginner, would you go Muay Thai or boxing?

The kirk to the fields
Muay Thai because you are more versatile.

Although I would argue that you should attend a boxing gym for at least a year so you can learn how to throw a proper punch.

What's the age limit? I'm

Welcome to the Grappling World breh, people don't understand BJJ until they try it out or do it.

In 6 months, you won't believe the progress you'd have made, 6 years...man...just wait breh....

The hardest phase for me to break in BJJ was the pacing and gameplan as I came from a Judo background (Black Belt) which is all throws and light ground work and I would take side control....and just pin lol...that worked in Judo matches which had 3-4 minutes at most with ref breaks and resets....BJJ is different as the flow is more continuous.

It is a humbling...always....everytime you think you have control of a situation, you run into a Brown/Black Belt who will do their best to turn you into a pretzel....
