When I did Muay Thai, the Boxers that came in obviously had better hands, head movement, but were susceptible to the leg kicks, teeps, clinch, elbows.
When I transitioned to do boxing, my whole game was wrecked, no kicks/teeps to maintain the distance and my hand combos limited since they were chained to 1-1-Left inside kick-right roundhouse. It took me another 6 months or so to get my footwork together.
Sorry for responding to your thread so late gut that is the reason Saenchai is so good. He trains with boxers and incorporates head movements and footwork into his style.
Muay Thai and Judo/wrestling will make you a monster on the streets, literally no one can get a clinch on you and you can drop them at will with a knee, elbow, throw...
