I'm still optimistic brehs :wow:

I am too. We got to do drastic changes, like start having a small number of pro black people build through group economics, having the selfless pro blacks move through silence and power to gain the things that we need, and cut the crap off of c00nery. I'm sure that black folk are thinking the same way, thanks to the Internet. My FB feed is filled with pro black people who push black knowledge and knowledge of self and solutions of what we need.

People in our society generally acknowledge the basic tenets of equality and justice as desirable. If they can be made to understand as a whole the steps needed to make true equality and justice for black people as a reality, enough white people will be down for a change.

The problem with structural privilege in our society is that it is unconscious. Most white people don't even think of themselves as privileged. Enlightenment and movement of the Overton window towards justice through a progressive political platform is important.

There are no easy solutions.

Equality and Justice are utopia for white people, they only believe in the dominace of their race on the planet, All these terms are used to make people like you to believe that they receive fair treatment when they don't, how can you receive a fair treatment in a country that was created on slavery and genocide. The jews had flee the nazis regime because they know they would never get a fair treatment from the nazis no matter what happened after world war 2, but black people are the only race who believe that their opressors would give them justice or equality after 400 years of mistreatment, that won't happen. All white people know very well they have privilege over you, but they will never admit it because they don't care about you and they don't want to share their privilege with you. So there's no solution with white people, the solution start with black people and the black community. Like Malcom X said, if you want justice and equality you take it, you don't ask, but the biggest problem is that black people are too coward to do that.

I have hope for the future but some days it seems like that's all I have. I don't have a plan, talent, money, or a way of procuring a loan, so all I can do at this moment is try to educate myself and plan for the future. sad to see so many giving up

This illustrates why there is an active sneakers, clothes cars & jewelry room but not a money, finance & business room to be found on here. Its soul crushing when you think about it.

I don't think everyone or even the majority of the ppl who commented in here are giving up...i can relate to how Dr Anderson feels but i'm still doing what i feel i need to do business-wise. I don't think I'll ever 'stop'. But i do feel that it's only a small portion of black americans who are truly aware of where we are and what remotely should be done in order to improve our economic standing. I have had times where i was just frustrated so i get where he's coming from. I haven't given up, but i realized that there's no point in debating with other black ppl who don't get it. Nothing you say can change their mentality. I just keep building, and networking with other black ppl who do get it.

Being white, I can tell you that white people dont know why they have privilege over anyone. They think it's natural or just don't think about it. Education on the root of inequality is key. I can tell you that from personal experience: I was ignorant until I studied these things, and then my perspective changed. I see no reason why that can't happen with others on a wider scale, for at least college-educated whites. It is possible.

Black people by nature of white supremacy and continued oppression are structurally inhibited from rising as a collective to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. I don't think it has much to do with fear as it has to do with education and understanding of the structural implications of the state of Black America. It's not common for anyone to fully grasp these concepts in a meaningful way. And even if they did, wealth is so differentiated and the gap is so large that self-contained economic strategies are insufficient to ameliorate it from a purely mathematical standpoint.

Of course, I'm not implying that changing white hearts and minds is something that the black community is responsible for. A revolution of understanding the implications of privilege has to come from within. Which is why aware white people need to spread the message and become organized.

Listening now. Dr. Claude is PISSED.

I can truly understand his frustration. Working so hard to try to open the eyes of your people. We're going through another round of severe nationwide Police Brutality (in TWENTY fukkING SIXTEEN) where police can murder a man on CAMERA and it's just another day at the office. The shyt is disheartening, especially coming from a man whose been going hard for black progression since the 70's. It must seem like there is no true "progress" to be had.

I also read that article about the proposed black business district in Detroit being shut down. THAT truly pissed me off.

I have always laid the blame at those who made it out not reaching back.

We have folks who are damn near billionaires who won't do anything but make a shallow "show of solidarity". That shyt don't last a day.

Yet these same folks won't pool resources and do substantive things.

We have very talented designers and artists in our communities. HipHop and Sports are influential marketing tools and they are used to keep Louis V, Versace,Nike and countless other people wealthy instead of saying hey lets open up a factory in the community. People wear socks, white tees, underwear etc every day of the year.

It makes no sense why we don't have one factory in the community manufacturing these things for ourselves and using the same HipHop artists and athletes to market and make them cool. You provide jobs, you provide COMMUNITY value and you provide US Promoting and depending on OURSELVES. Get the paper flowing amongst ourselves. But alas when you get to a certain point there is nothing but a "show" of support and protest then back to regular bullshyt the next day. The Dr. is very right.

It takes an agenda, then solidarity and it can expand. It takes discipline and trust. Two things severely lacking. Too many of us on the streets doing nothing or hustling drugs for damn near better than minimum wage. Or trying to rap to be cool for what? "a year or 2 on average? shyt is depressing and I can relate to his feelings of helplessness. Most revolutionary thing we can do is stay around and raise the kids. Get them educated enough to compete. Nobody should be marching anywhere for anything if they ain't got their kids or the kids in their community on the right path to economic freedom. And don't tell me how hard it is, theres people here who don't speak english, cleaning toilets in corporate complexes to put their kids through school. They see the vision. Most of us will see it too 20 yrs from now when they are UNDER these people's kids, and gotta go to them seeking a fukking job.

Education won't get you anywhere, i wish you good luck with that, good will is the only thing that can change their mind, but 95% of white people have zero empathy for anything outside of their race, look how they bombed, destroy and use other people for their own benefits. They choose ignorance because ignorance served them well for centuries. If you want to exploit people, you have to dehumanize them to justify these horrible acts perpetrated against them. So you want me to believe that the way they portray us in the media to dehumanize us and making everything in their power to lessen our economic outcomes is pure coincidence. If they are so unaware of white privilege, then who's working to sustain the systematic opression that keep white people on top ? i know its not skynet. Stupid people can't create a complex system to keep other races on the bottom, you have to know something to create something.
