I've had 2 of my closest friends tell me how they feel UNFULFILLED in Life.

So I get to thinking about my own life, in my late 30s, no kids, no wife, my career is going good. I guess I feel unfulfilled too, but it doesn't bother me because I've always had low expectations. It's not a bad thing because I do work somewhat hard and very wisely and I was be happy with the outcome. Honestly my expectations were so low and feel like I've overachieved. I think people get depressed because they don't feel like they're doing some special. But a majority of humans are just regular everyday people.


How do yall deal with feelings of unfulfillment and not really having a purpose?

What's funny is, I have a younger brother that on paper did everything wrong in life...including having kids at an early age.

Right now? That nikka doing better than most, finally enjoying life and his career. And his kids are just old enough to be driving. Mine have a decade to go, but I told that nikka what a blessing it is to have your kids dap you up and contribute while he still young enough to enjoy it .

There's no other joy than to see your sons and daughters, not even make it, because fukk this country half the time...but just live brehs.

Simply having a spouse and kids is not going to make you fulfilled. There are plenty of people in this position that are in the midst of a full-blown identity crisis, because they did what society expected them to do as opposed to what they wanted

Im about to turn 45....got the house, wife, kids, job, good money, plenty of toys....and I still don't know what I want to 'be' when I grow up.

I still feel like 'me', and Ive known that 'me' since I was little, and I don't feel like I know the dude that is now also 'me' when i'm starting at the gray hairs in my head and beard...if that makes sense lol.

I think its normal in any culture to struggle for a sense of purpose at some point in your life, but even more so in America. "This western way of life ain't native to me!" - Common.

Humans beings #1 purpose in life is to procreate & keep the human race alive.

If you dont have kids, you will always feel unfulfilled. That's why people who dont want kids end up getting a pet. Everyone has something in them to want to nature & raise.

This is part of it, something you invest in external to yourself is fulfilling.
