You better be glad that post was acknowledged! lol!

But UNC is a good school. A "best buy" institution. But let's not go crazy. Duke & Vandy are the only schools in the south that are even in consideration. They've been dubbed as Southern Ivies, although it's informal and neither really claims that label.

Imma let my young boy know tho :salute:

Aight no doubt, practical majors like Computer Science are always the way to go :salute:

And same here, I'm from Brooklyn, upstate would be ehh for me. Only 97,000 live in the entire city of Albany :scusthov:

they call themselves an "ivy of the south" just like stanford calls itself "ivy of the west" but its not an ivy. if you go around in college educated circles talking about you go to an ivy league school then say duke they're gonna look at you like :what: then :usure: then

remember the ivy league was created as a sports league, not necessarily for elite education purposes. there are better schools that arent in the ivy league (like Stanford) and mediocre schools in the ivy league (like Cornell).

schools from best to worst in the ivy league (my opinion only): Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth, Columbia, UPenn, Brown, Cornell. Studying CS at any of those schools will give you a top tier education, though. as for the black experience I can only really comment on the one I went to. The african-american community is highly intellectual at all of them, as expected. The schools try very hard to be diversified. Manage your expectations, though. Going to a school in a big city will be better than one in the boonies, as a black person. But I wouldnt be too hung up on it either way. You'll find your friends, you'll have a good time, you wont experience much overt racism (remember these are all educated people) but most of the white kids come from rich white neighborhoods so they really dont know many black people wherever they came from. Lots of kids from NYC though too, who do.

Just go to the best school you can, get your degree, then live your life with a good job and good connections :blessed:
Most colleges are like this. I agree with the rest.

I'm not anywhere close to Ivy League, I've managed to run across a couple of women in particular now, through dating and work. Can't tell if I'm doing something right or fukking up :ehh:

baby, that was the old me
If true, again, an alum(s) -- with the slightest of possibility -- might post on here...

I think I recall one poster professed to be an alum in this thread >>> http://www.thecoli.com/threads/when...etics-stanford-is-the-goat-university.162556/

but still...

WTF is an Ivy League alum thinking being on here?! :laff:

It's like hanging out with folks on skid row and revisiting them just for the experience and to accessorize with commoners on some Radical Chic shyt... Just can't see it.

:laff:

It doesn't make socio-economic sense at all. It doesn't make societal sense.

i will be in that upper echelon of cash money with those ivy grads soon. your calculations.... i eat those

This is actually interesting. I don't live in the USA so I'm intrigued by the perception of ivy leagues.

How do you view the coli, as a website and its clientele if you were to sum up the average coli person and what you think their job is what would you describe it as.

I'm just trying to see your side of things as to why you think an Ivy League student wouldn't post on here, it has to do with how you perceive the posters.

Also, as a random side note do you think a Wall Street banker would post on here either?

Interested to know.

For what it's worth, I'm an ivy leaguer and a Wall Street banker

I denied acceptance letters from California Institute of Technology, University of Chicago, Howard, and NYU. Does that count? :ld:

One of the freakiest and explicit chicks on :hamster:attended Dartmouth. A UPenn grad got eggs and pancakes smeared on his car after getting with a Brooklyn poster. One of my favorite and sharpest female posters graduated from Stanford. One of the mods here went to business school in an unofficial Ivy with a full ride but loses points for being a Kobe Stan.

Enjoying fukkery is universal

my first bit of advice would be to learn which schools are in the ivy league. cause DUKE isnt one of them.

but yeah, i'm black and i went to one. you can pm me with questions i'm not into putting my business out there for the forums at large...the wolves are lurkin.

Cornell isn't Ivy League.
